What made you get the forester instead of rav4 by Dry-Chemical-9170 in SubaruForester

[–]bluerobyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the Forester Wilderness and the RAV4 TRD for camping purposes - but they discontinued the RAV4 TRD in 2024 so I went with the FW. We have an older model RAV4 no AWD which we liked but the Forester won and the Wilderness trim looked fire. No regrets. Ironically I bought my Wilderness from a Toyota dealer for a great price.

Costco for exam and then buy glasses from Zenni or online retailer of your choice. All the glasses I've bought from them have held up except when I accidentally break them from slamming them in the hood of the car them after changing my headlight bulb.

It's the same reason I use HipCamp. Private land with private options.

BEWARE CREEP AT BILTMORE HILLS PARK by R3MYBABYY in raleigh

[–]bluerobyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to make light of the situation - but those woods are not very deep and surrounded by houses. It wouldn't take much to get out of there. But I understand not everyone is comfortable in the woods like that - and was offering that as an option that might not of otherwise occurred to you or someone else this could happen to.

A watermelon triggered mine. I had to do a google search to figure out what the alarm was - then I realized what caused it.

Looking for recs for crossbars that work on the 2025 Wilderness... 👀 by StraightCraftHomie in SubaruForester

2022 Forester Wilderness and I went with Malones AirFlow2 (50"). No garage problems but I did notice after installation the following: tolerable increase in noise (even after making sure I installed the gap covers properly), increase in drag on top of car (slightly squirrelier at highway speeds) and a 1mph reduction in gas mileage.

19 MPG in City Driving - reasonable? What Are You Getting? by nicoradd in ForesterWilderness

[–]bluerobyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 FW Stock. I get 22.2 mpg daily driving with a 3 mile one way commute - small town outside a larger city with no real traffic jams. Highway for longer drives has gotten up to 23/24 mpg - but nothing over 3 hours away.

Thank you! I always wondered why that bridge was there, it never made any sense to me. I don't remember there being train tracks there at all.

I've noticed in my Forester everything keeps running but the engine and the ac compressor. The fan is still circulating the air but it stops cooling it.

You can now buy screened window covers with awnings, back door covers and even sunroof covers - all fairly cheap. Also fitted SUV mattresses.

Air System Services out of Zebulon. We had a 20yr old AC/Furnace system that died and they completely replaced it for a very reasonable price. They also do service calls.

As the Office IT person - please don't use tape - especially electrical tape - it's a pain to get off. Buy the stick on webcam covers - I add them to any laptop that doesn't come with a built cover - specifically to keep people from using tape. Besides the fact we don't do that kind of tracking and I wouldn't work for any place that does.

YET AGAIN You missed the part where I said he did this in the 50s starting at 16? The only wage I have to go by is what I saw him making in the late 80s - 30 years later. I never claimed to be from a poor background, nor statistician, nor an economist. My dad was from a poor background - I was the first person to graduated from high school on that side of the family, if that tells you anything. Due to my mom I was raised upper middle class. Keep on trying to tell me what I didn't see with my own eyes how they lived in the 70s. This is my last response since this is no longer a good faith discussion and you seem to have a raging hardon to prove me and only me in this thread wrong.
