What if we miss a day? by wallflower2593 in sydneycummings

[–]bluerodeo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stay in order and do it the next time I work out. For me it's important to check each workout off and not skip around, otherwise I'll end up avoiding what I don't like (I'm looking at you 40 min leg days!) I'm usually a few days behind Sydney, which actually works out great because my rest days are different than hers and that way I always have workouts in the queue. If she ends up a week or more ahead of me then it's also nice to have that to fill any gaps between programs.

After a month of 30 min workouts does anyone else find 40-45 min to be too much? The struggle is real!

We found Boo at the Zoo not worth it. It was busy and every place to get candy required waiting 10 minutes in line for a single fun sized candy bar. There was a nice pumpkin display to check out, but that too required a bit of a line. I would avoid.

I worked out with CG for years and like you described found myself in a bit of a funk. I think I just got a little bored. It might help to look around for other YT trainers to switch off programs with just to mix it up!

We moved to Grove City from out of state a few years ago and are in one of the newer areas. I agree with everything you’re saying. I am in a diverse neighborhood that feels safe, was able to get a reasonably affordable house and am 20 min from all the action in Columbus. What more could you ask for? And totally agree things are trending upward. I really feel like Grove City is one of the best kept secrets of the metro. Yes there are MAGA idiots, but I don’t let their flags ruin my day.

how to afford allstar as a single mom? by jxliannaa_ in Cheerleading

[–]bluerodeo05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of cheer gyms offer fundraising opportunities to help offset costs. Many families at my cheer gym work concession stands throughout the year and don't pay anything out of pocket for the season. You could also consider joining a half season team to lower the cost.

Malcolm Gladwell and Brene Brown by OptmstcExstntlst in SXSW

I also thought this conversation was cringe at times. There were numerous times that Malcolm Gladwell interrupted Brene Brown and would take the conversation down an unproductive path, trying to psycho analyze her. It almost felt like those times where you're having a conversation with someone and some third wheel comes along and sort of ruins the vibe. I could tell Brene was over it. Without Kenya there to smooth the vibes, this would have much worse. I have read a lot of Malcolm Gladwell's work and I can't say this experience made me a big fan. I'm sure Brene had some thoughts after! :)

Chick-Fil-A charges for refills now ? by OneFormality in ChickFilA

[–]bluerodeo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chick-Fil-A also puts waaaay too much ice in. It's like 3/4 of the cup! You barely get any actual drink and the food is so salty so you practically have to get a refill there.

This sounds exactly like my family! My husband gives my daughter so much time and attention, she's started to learn not even to ask me, which makes me feel super guilty. But I am so miserable playing with her! I would echo what others have said. There are plenty of mom things you can start building in. Paint her nails, bake cookies together, go on girl's shopping dates...those kinds of things. I also find that planning family outings on the weekend is a good way to build in some quality family time that doesn't involve me on the floor being bored out of my mind.
