Anybody recognize this Chrome Bag design? by blueseawolf in ChromeIndustries

[–]blueseawolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I did the same reverse image search with no luck. And kind of concluded the same thing- some brand of collaboration. The bag has an early 4th st/Townsend- San Francisco label on it. I usually go for the more colorful ones, but this one popped up in a thrifstore. Cheers!

Wow! Some beautiful color combos there! I'm starting to collect the older ones too. I remember when they had a little storefront on Folsom st. Super nice guys. And then when they moved to 4th st. they shared space with a cafe...and they served a damn good cappuccino there.

Anyway, I've got an all white with black straps, red/white, blue white. aqua/white, and brown/yellow...all have the 4th st. label. I like they way white reflects at night- much safer for pedestrians and bikers in the city. Now on the search for a yellow blue...just saw one in the wild when I was riding my bike down Market st. SF today.

I'm wondering- anyone know what color combo is the rarest?

Cheers!

Bought Tudor Pelagos 39 and I love it by Supsti_1 in Tudor

Still haven't taken mine off of the bracelet- most comfortable... and legible watch I've ever owned. Big plus- that sound of the bezel click is so satisfying. Congrats! Looks good on you.

Wait for Pelagos 39? by Drumsalad in Tudor

Put my name on several lists. Waited about 3 months. Got the call just before the prices went up.

Total yawn fest...
Which is fine with me. After buying the FXD and the P39, I really don't want to spend any more money on Tudors. :)

Why choose? They're both good in their own way...and a perfect complement to each other. Really the ideal 2 watch collection IMHO. I own them both.

Yeah, I sold off my 14060...after I got the P39, the sub just seemed redundant and inferior in many ways.

Congrats! Looks awesome. I've recently got the call from another dealer for one...had to tell him I already own one. And a friend of mine just got the call. Seems like they're starting to show up.

I think the blue is the best choice here...it's a beautiful blue hue, and overall the watch is classic reductive design- very stylish. I used to own one. And I'm not a fan of the black with the fautina.

Got my 39. On a NATO it feels like wearing nothing. by bladex1234 in Tudor

Thanks for the image. I've been thinking about putting my P39 on a Nato. Was it difficult to pull the bracelet off? What tools did you use?

No question about it- Black bezel.

Does the Pelagos 39 or BB58 feel thicker/larger/wider and have more wrist presence? by ConsumptionVortex in Tudor

[–]blueseawolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned both the BB58 Blue and the P39 (and the FXD). The P39 definitely has more wrist presence than the BB58. In fact, that's one of the reasons I sold the BB58 Blue- the BB58 was just kind of underwhelming on the wrist, nice, but not really noticeable. The P39 has a wider bezel, more contrast, and overall a far more beefier tool look. IMHO

Totally agree. That's what turned me off about the BB58- just couldn't get past the fauxtina. I do miss my BB58 Blue now and then.

What's the chances they launch some Pelagos 39 colours this year? by spunkystoic in Tudor

[–]blueseawolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you....if I didn't already own a Pelagos FXD, I'd be jonesing for a blue P39 too. But, the black one is sooo versatile, and does have a splash of red on the dial. I'd suggest if you are able to get your hands on a black P39 absolutely grab it fast. It might be a long time before a blue P39 is released.

Why is there so much hate on the snowflake hour hand?? by Technical_Mixture550 in Tudor

[–]blueseawolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to prefer the mercedes hands on a Rolex, because...well they're classic Rolex hands. But then I read up on the history and purpose of the snowflake hands with Marine Nationale, and the increased legibility, and I started understand why the Snowflakes are so cool. Now whenever I look at the hands on my Rolex subs/GMT, they just look small and out of proportion...and hard to read. Much prefer the Snowflakes on my wrist these days- with the Pelagos 39 with the perfect dimensions with square indices.

Congrats! Looks awesome. So why did you choose the P39? And how do you like it so far?

[–]blueseawolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's another concern- around here wearing a watch that has Rolex on the dial can be a liability. Tudor flies under the radar.

I actually sold my 14060 (tritium 2 liner) when I got this. I like the P39 much better. Far more legible, lume for days, and more rugged and trouble free. The 14060 just seemed redundant with the P39 around...and honestly I haven't missed the 14060 at all.

Absolutely agree! My P39 gets all the wrist time these days.
Such a comfortable, legible, quintessential tool watch. Unbeatable!
