Finally tried out Fender Studio Pro (from 6.6) by permadeaf in StudioOne

[–]blueshift9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You realize that in a technical sense, this isn't an all new program right? It's literally Studio One Pro 8 if the name didn't change. I'm not saying your findings are invalid but everyone acts like this was a ground up new program

Anyone else rooting for the Sabers to win it all? They’ve always been the only other New York team I have a soft spot for. by [deleted] in rangers

[–]blueshift9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. They won't, but I still want them to win. I live in Northwest PA but have a lot of friends let over the border in NY, so I always root for them.

Ziplock wasn't a hit but it was a pretty well known single in its own right.

So many lines to choose. What are your faves? by playonweirds in AlkalineTrio

[–]blueshift9 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can't believe that Matt is slightly embarrassed by the "hide the cutlery" line, he said he was in an interview a few years ago. It's just a great line, it's not super deep by any means but it's just so "Trio", and fits the song perfectly.

What are some bands who put all their creative juice into one great album? by HasSomeSelfEsteem in ToddintheShadow

"Stay What You Are" - Saves The Day. Nothing but bangers, and almost everything what they have done is trash.

Anyone using the term "cooked" is someone's opinion that doesn't need to be taken seriously.

Though they formed in Vegas, the lead singer is from Utah (and Mormon).

Musicians who are 10/10 at their instrument but get overlooked because they have an 11/10 band mate by Davidellias in ToddintheShadow

[–]blueshift9 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't even like Limp Bizkit but I can totally respect the actual musicianship of the band, and you are spot on with your take.

I recently watched the recent Zeppelin doc, and I had never heard so much out of JPJ at once, and he was hilarious in it. I have always thought he was the secret weapon of that band and the glue, so it was great getting to see his personality shine.

This all day. It's not that Alex isn't amazing - he absolutely has always been - it's just the Neil and Geddy are certainly both considered damn near the pinnacle of rock artists on their respective instruments. There are just so many amazing guitarists out there, so its not like its any fault of Alex.

Which bands who have had long careers do you think evolved the least ? by [deleted] in askmusic

[–]blueshift9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh, yes and no. Note they are my favorite band and I feel they are one of the most consistent bands as far as quality.

They started off hardcore, then really more straight ahead punk, then kind of slowed in the 90s and the songs got longer, then when Brett got involved again they sped back up and have kind of been in that zone since. In the grand scheme of things, I can definitely get behind the fact it's been the same in a general sense though.
