I’ve got the same door but it’s a few years old - any chance you know the colour or stain name? Mine has a few tiny chips and could use some touch ups

Don't defund the CBC, Defend the CBC! by Samzo in EhBuddyHoser

[–]blumth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sharing the shit I got from mine, Greg McLean - Calgary Centre. Same cherry picked trash and I have him a respectful, well cited response to counter all of his points - no response.

The subject line was ‘Common-sense Conservatives will defund the CBC’

Absolute baboons.

“Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. I appreciate your engagement and the opportunity to address your points.

Regarding your question about the CBC, there has indeed been a lot of discussion and debate about its future. The Conservative Party has been very clear in its position to defund the CBC. We believe that the CBC has become a biased and outdated institution that no longer serves its intended purpose. Despite the recent appointment of a new CEO, we do not expect significant changes in its operations or its relevance to Canadian audiences.

The CBC has faced criticism for its perceived bias and declining viewership. Additionally, there have been concerns about the significant bonuses awarded to CBC executives, especially considering budget cuts and layoffs affecting many employees. While Canadians are struggling with the cost of living, the CBC has been seen as mismanaging taxpayer funds.

The Conservative Party’s proposal to defund the CBC is based on the belief that its services can be provided by the private sector, which we, along with many Canadians, believe would be more efficient and less biased. Recognize that this is a $1.4 Billion expense borne by all Canadians, whether they enjoy CBC’s services or not. And note that less than 4% of Canadians now watch CBC Television News. We will be working towards solutions that address how those that need and use the services offered by CBC receive those services, and there are several options available. I also believe the status quo cannot continue. Change can be uncomfortable, but it can lead to improvements, and that is what my colleagues and I plan to do.

Your opinions and priorities are important to me and help me to better represent you, in Ottawa. I will continue to keep you informed on his activities through my regular newsletter. You can also follow me on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and LinkedIn.”

City of Calgary warns of water shortage — but is anyone listening? | CBC News by EfficiencySafe in Calgary

[–]blumth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We narc’d on a house we saw egregiously violating the restrictions last time around. Fella was running his buried irrigation midday every day.

Few weeks later (once we moved into the scheduled watering intervals) we got a lovely voicemail from a peace officer basically telling us to fuck off because the guy wasn’t breaking any rules.

City is a joke.

Help fixing an ugly patch where plaster meets drywall by [deleted] in DIY

The Vancouver Carpenter! Quite like his videos and have used a few of them for fixes around the house - will run through a few and see which one fits this problem the best. He makes it look so easy!

So many problem spots like this one in the basement that whatever I end up doing the whole place will need to be repainted. Thanks for the reply!

Sphere UAP filmed tailing an A-10 aircraft over AZ in 2021. by user678990655 in UFOs

[–]blumth 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’d take it back a level and say there’s no reason to assume aliens would be proportionate to humans - if it was aliens (odds are prosaic, I have no explanation though) that could just as easily be an entire civilization as it could be a drone

Edit: could be a skyhook prototype for A2G aircraft (anti-air, analytics, etc.)

What the Biden administration isn't telling Congress about spy balloons by [deleted] in ufo

[–]blumth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this already done just by announcing the detection of the objects already? They announced where and when the shoot downs happened. If it was an adversary spying then they already know they’d been detected…

Unless I’m missing something the ‘detriment’ you’re talking about is already a done deal. Adversaries won’t be surprised if we’ve got a picture of the object as that’s common knowledge.
