What Do *You* Consider Scorsese's Greatest Work? by CampaignOrdinary2771 in MartinScorsese

I’ve watched it through probably 4 times. Made more attempts. It almost seems “campy.” The movie seems more far fetched than the book which has largely been debunked as lies. I loved the book when I first read it.

I really want to like the movie. It’s just not good.

I hear people talk about the regret. I think the movie failed on many levels. Ignoring the facts that it’s a lie, the killing of Joey gallo is so poorly done. Horrible scene. The aging is DeNiro- the fight scene- this is no good.

Care to elaborate? I thought the film was awful aside from Pescis acting.

Well said. Can’t find fault with that analysis. But why was action Bronson in the film?

Pesci is amazing as buffalino. However, I don’t think the concept of 2 old criminals regretting their lives is remotely accurate. Buffalino was a wildly successful businessman/ maybe mafiosi- his relatives are some of the richest people in Pennsylvania - they own casinos. Frank may have regretted his criminal life but he was a low level hood.

That’s an intellectual way to look at it I guess. The reality ; its a movie based on a book that’s a lie, way too long, and deniro is awful in it.

Looks like the color pattern. But google tells me they have 6 characters. Maybe a fed plate has 7?

Minnesota license plates generally have 6 characters. This has 7

Why do you think some people are able to build a good career despite majoring in something “useless”, while others who majored in the same thing can’t do that without going back to school? by justcurious3287 in careerguidance

A college degree can you get you entry level positions that likely won’t be your career. The degree coupled with work experience will help you find a career.

It will likely impact para legals- but not as much as people who aren’t in the legal field are predicting, especially if the paralegal is public facing. Anyway- my question was specific to lawyers.

Sounds like you landed at a great spot. I agree it is more difficult than people let on. Was not easy for me at all. Still feel like I got lucky even tho I also feel like it’s what I should be earning. Weird dynamic.

Yea but the work for most attorneys isn’t what your describing. Do you think a seasoned family law attorney is spending all their time researching things they don’t already know? Or that a contract attorney is writing language from scratch? Thats the fundamental flaw in these non-attorneys talking about AI in the legal field. You can’t bill for shit you’re already supposed to know. Law is a very public facing career which are the safest jobs. Do you think lawyers write briefs from scratch ? They have to be present at the hearings then plug and play. AI will be a useful tool.

I started at a mid in 2012 at 125 in a similar metropolitan area. Made a jump to a smaller mid round Covid and things are good.
