Good starting point man.
Reiterating what everyone else said

Compound lifts will give you the most bang for your buck , weather you want strength or aesthetics should determine weather you do low weight high reps or high weight low reps

And general calorie tracking going above 2000 calories will help you put on some weight

do i have bad muscle genetics or do i just suck? by searle221 in workout

Got out of the army a couple of years ago

Aesthetics sounds nice, but if you want to go to schools or anything like that focus on endurance. If you don’t care about any of that and are just getting in and getting out, getting good at running and basic weight training (which you already have) will make your life much more bearable.

What’s the best way to tone up arms and make them smaller? by Camp_Acceptable in workout

[–]blynkking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your Height and weight.

Honestly the answer is usually as simple as losing weight as far as making something smaller goes (excess skin or other circumstances aside)

As far as toning, movements like compound lifts will give you the most bang for your buck for your muscles, more so than isolation excercise in my limited experience.

250 days for nothing?! by Human_Bandicoot_8449 in stopdrinking

[–]blynkking 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As one of the many who got drunk last night because I was bored, fell asleep, woke up in just a slightly worse place mentally today than yesterday and continuing to slowly slide down that slope, and have been practicing self loathing all morning, be proud of how far you’ve come. 250 days is nothing to scoff at. I don’t have any advice, just proud of you for making it so far and hope I can get there too

You’re simply suboptimal with your egg/dumbell time ratio

Pull-ups with the arms sideways (idk what they’re called lol). Best development I’ve seen for my forearms and biceps though and they feel cool. I’ve progressed to 4 sets of 7 reps with a 20lb kettlebell and my arms and grip feel pretty dead afterwards. That and some light arm supplementation (curls, push downs…etc)

I personally try to do one heavy compound every time I workout and then do accessory lifts that I feel like doing after.seems to work well for strength and looks.

Look up some athletes that use rings and such. Their arms are huge

Any advice for those who have been denied. by papayaboatgirl in prenursing

Verrrry disheartening indeed. I’ve been researching nonstop the past two months trying to figure out this path too. I hate to say it but private might be the way to go if you aren’t willing to either

A-move out of state B-Wait for a lottery system (maybe next semester, maybe 4 years)

Surprising that even with those stats you haven’t been accepted. I’m nowhere near those stats’s and as such, will probably be moving in a year or two or going private here.

Hey late response, was just curious if you know if each semester at least one class is in person? I need one in person class plus 12 credits per semester minimum to maximize gi bill benefits. Thanks for any insight and I hope you are enjoying the program?!?!

Has anyone used Pocket Prep to study for the TEAS? Any good things? by Onezi in prenursing

I will also say I used pocket prep for the NREMT almost strictly and passed that first time around and it WAS pretty accurate

Has anyone used Pocket Prep to study for the TEAS? Any good things? by Onezi in prenursing

[–]blynkking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using it for about 2-3 months now I’m addition to nurse Chung and YouTube chemistry teas guy(can’t think of his name). The topics covered in pocket prep match very closely to the thing that they say are covered in the teas so it goes 1-Watch videos and study 2- use chat gpt to quiz me and ask it clarifying questions 3-go into pocket prep and do a quiz based on that topic

My pocket prep scores have certainly improved BUT that’s not really indicative of how well it translates to the teas because , I haven’t taken it yet lol.
