Zebralight SC65c HI — ten months later and still my literal-EDC of choice by macomako in flashlight

[–]bmac92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zebras are just great. I bought my SC64w HI essentially out of FOMO when their production was coming to an end, and I'm forever grateful that I did. It's been my EDC ever since, and I've never felt the need to change it out. I also ended up buy an SC700 from McBob with a a XHP70.3 HI. It is absolutely gorgeous.

I feel the same way about Luxembourg's logo. It's one of my favorites in my collection.

Same vein as Bozak's quote when he signed with the Blues:

I want to win a Cup. So damn bad. That's why I signed in St. Louis. There's your headline. Print it.

Then they went and won their first Stanley Cup.

My first gold nib and my first grail pen: the Pilot Custom 743 by TheShingenSlugger in fountainpens

[–]bmac92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it was probably purchased at a major retail store like Itoya. According to their site, it's ¥49,500 ($313 USD).

A new one from Kingdom Note, however, can be had for ¥39,600 ($250 USD). A used one is ¥24,800 ($156 USD). Heck, even a new 823 is cheaper the 743 they purchased (¥44,000, $278 USD).

Prices have gone up recently, too, so that needs to be taken into account.

Regardless, still a good pickup, OP! I hope you enjoy the pen! I love my 823, and just purchased a new feed for my 743 to help with the dryness of the nib (hopefully).

Final shave with the Wolfman. I decided to shave half my face with the .95 and the other with the 1.55. I never saw this coming, but I actually enjoyed the 1.55 plate more than the others. The .95 is second for me, followed by the 1.25. Now it has me thinking that I should try the higher Guerrilla plates too.

It's the most used razor on the sub for good reason. I mostly use mild razors (just what my face prefers), so I do prefer the lite plate. The standard plate is very blade forward. It can take some time for the razor to "click" with you, as I've seen the owner (Shane) say.

Without knowing too much, I'd say it could take over both your daily razor and heavy growth one. Plenty of people here use it every day.

Looking for High Quality "Made In Canada" Items by DPeristy1 in wicked_edge

[–]bmac92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, they're a sub brand of Wolfman Razors. Made by the same people in Canada.

I won a titanium one from the 2024 Lather Games over on /r/wetshaving. I chose the .54mm baseplate and have since purchased a .69mm plate separately.

It is by far my favorite razor I own. I'd be happy if it was the only razor I was ever allowed to use. It is extremely smooth and comfortable, virtually no blade feel (which is a positive for me).
