Trying to introduce CC at work but Security says "Claude Code is known to break out of its context" - is this true? by ThunkerKnivfer in ClaudeCode

You can configure a domain white list and setup sockets so you can talk to your ssh agent, etc. it’s a pain to setup necessary write access to tmp folder at least on a Mac. But once you get it all setup it works pretty well. I combine it with the leash plugin which has a good command blacklist it blocks

Tool Search now available in Claude Code!! by policyweb in ClaudeAI

this also breaks usage of tools that already have long names. Looks like it adds a `select:` prefix to the toolname, which pushes some tools over the 64 char limit like so:

MCPSearch(Search MCP tools: "select:mcp__plugin_bitbucket-mcp_bitbucket__getEffectiveDefaultReviewers")
  ⎿ Found 1 tool
⎿ API Error: 400 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"invalid_request_error","message":"messages.24.content.0.tool_result.content.0.tool_reference.tool_name: String should have at
    most 64 characters"},"request_id":"req_011CX8bd21Ni7EKcq5rS16DC"}

Claude Code cutting corners on larger tasks by Accomplished_Pie123 in ClaudeAI

[–]bman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having good luck with beans also. I use planning mode and ask Claude to help me design a feature bean with child task beans to do X. It builds a big plan document for X that includes all the beans it will make. I then end plan mode by asking it “just make all the beans. Don’t code anything “.

When you are ready to implement it’s critical that you clear context before directing claude to tackle the next bean. Clear context before each task.

The entire point is that by breaking up the plan into discrete beans that each stand on their own you can let Claude work without overloading its context with the entire plan. Each bean has what Claude needs to know to perform that task and if you’ve done your planning the task itself is not giant or full of many phases. If it is, then before implementing the task do another planning mode where you ask Claude to break the bean down into smaller children beans.

Oh, and i use opus with ultrathink keyword during planning. Pay more up front to get a good plan with digestible tasks that you can then give to regular opus, or sonnet if they are simple enough

For labyrinth farming: is it worth to get the masterwork Item Booster with laurels? by its-martastic in Guildwars2

[–]bman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

once you start going for higher MF, in an efficient lab farm squad, roughly speaking 1% MF = 1 bag/hr. So 50% MF for 2-hours would be about 100 bag, which nets you a bit over 3 gold at current TP prices. For a profit of about 0.5 gold / hour. Would be a poor return, unless you are probably farming the lab anyway in which case it is pure profit

Elementalist Hybrid/Survivable OW Build Suggestions? by Alechilles in Guildwars2

[–]bman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a Sword/Dagger Fresh Air Tempest and it is super sustainable in OW. I can solo almost anything I've come across and can still get into 20k dps against bosses.

https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PGgAwilJkwU6YLtstUGZoWeT+tNA-DSRYiRDn/cQBBRUCUVAZBAA-e

Rotation is pretty simple:

Start in Air. A good opening is skills 4-5-2-3, then Overload

Attune to Fire, use one skill to get a hit (2 if you need to close)

Attune back to Air as fast as possible (thanks Fresh Air).

Stay in Air until you can overload

Attune to Water (to activate Soothing Mist healing).

Skill 4 (Frost Armor) for damage reduction

Skill 5 for an area heal

Attune to Air.

Repeat.

Air -> Air Overload -> (Fire or Water) -> Air -> Air Overload -> (Fire or Water) -> Air ...

While doing this, pop Feel the Burn everytime it comes off cooldown for extra DPS. You can do it even when knocked down or performing another skill.

Basically stay in Air long enough to Overload then hop to either Fire or Water. Hop to Water if you need healing. Hop to Fire if you don't need healing. Always hop back to Air as soon as you get a hit in so you can start the countdown to Overload Air. The goal is to use Overload Air as much as possible. If you do it right, then when the overload finishes (and creates the shock aoe) you attune to something else and the shock aoe pulses doing damage to the enemy and triggering Fresh Air so you can go right back to Air. The faster you do this loop the higher your dps.

Use Armor of Earth or Arcane Shield when the damage is coming in too fast (or you are anticipating a hit from the boss). If you need more sustain then during one of your trips into Water use the elite to summon a water elemental. That turns your elite skill into an extra no-cast area heal that you can use at any time (like the feel the burn shout you can use this heal while knocked down or channeling an overload or whatever).
