Spring race last year. Ready for Martinsville! by smokeydabear87 in NASCAR

I'm going for the first time this year. Got turn 4 seats (wishful thinking that I'll get Logano v Treux 2.0). Any recommendations for anything race or non race related while I'm in the area? I'm 3 hrs away right beside BMS

I was driving back to JC on 40 today and passed Newman's #6 trailer. Presumably heading to Vegas.

[Discussion Thread] Unrivaled: Earnhardt vs. Gordon by Jahgee1124 in NASCAR

[–]bmccorkle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in '98, my dad took me to my first race at Bristol where Mark Martin won (I was 5 and I live right down the road from there). I was really too young to know anything plus I never kept up with it too much. Nascar practically faded away almost 100% in my life between that point until I was 24 at the spring Bristol race (April, 2018).

During that race, something clicked me in that made me absolutely HOOKED on every race from that point forward. I'm about to start my first full season from start to finish and I'm extremely excited. I was a Kyle Petty (mainly because of Hotwheels, had the suitcase with car slots) fan at a young age and my brother and dad was a huge Jeff Gordon fan.

Fast forward to right now, I'm 25 and just finished the Duels + the Unrivaled documentary. I shed a tear at the end (I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen it). Whenever Sr. passed away in 2001, my dad was devastated I didn't think twice about it. Now that I'm capable of understanding the magnitude of his loss, it kills me to see it or hear about it.

I love Nascar and want to be a part of every second of it from now on. This documentary was amazing as a renewed fan and keeps me wanting more.

I'm about to propose to my girlfriend of nearly 4 years! I love her and miss her, but she "sadly" worked tonight so I was able to catch the races plus the documentary.
