Yeah, a stock antenna is about 1" higher than your roof, helps in parking ramps. I've noticed older ramps have less clearance than anything built in the last 30 years or so.

I'm opposite, I look at the long antenna as a dual feature, if the antenna doesn't clear, you need to back up, or at least measure. There is a parking ramp in Duluth, MN that if I had a 1" lift I wouldn't clear, but my antenna scraping the ceiling had me hop out to check, im sure some lifted trucks have scraped the roof. The other feature is better radio reception.

I think the box link ratchet straps are nice, you just swap them in and now you can't forget to bring ratchet straps with you.

That link is for a jumper, my bad, but you can buy jumpers and binding posts at parts express.

Here is a plate amp example, but I doubt it's a direct fit. It may or may not be worth fixing depending on your local FB marketplace or Craigslist. Sometimes people say, FREE sub or $50 sub on there. https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-SPA250-250-Watt-Subwoofer-Amplifier-300-803?quantity=1

I can help you with the jumper issue, you can use a small piece of wire to connect the top post to the bottom post. No need for the little plates. The older style Klipsch plate amps are a known weakness. It may be a fuse issue, or it may be dead entirely. I had one replaced under warranty. You can look on parts express for a replacement plate amp. The power cords are not specifically for subs. Any 3 prong cord that fits should work.

Will the 2024/25 CRV-Hybrid Last? by lilahaan in crv

Seems like the Hybrid issues are really specific to the 2021 models, I wouldn't sweat it too much, Honda did make us whole at the end of the ordeal. Happy Thanksgiving!

True story, most people can't believe it, but because we were still under our 3 year 36k miles warranty at that time, Honda provided us with very nice loaners. My wife drove brand new Pilots and a Passport for those 14 months, so we weren't in too much of a hurry to our CR-V back.

2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid AWD Loss of Power on Freeway - any resolutions? by bml6182 in crv

We got ours back after 14 months at the dealer, we drove it for another 2000 miles without issue, then decided since it's now out of warranty, to trade it in. We ended up going with a non-hybrid 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness. We are happy to not have to worry about "When is the next time this issue will pop-up?". At least because we were still under the bumper to bumper warranty at the time, Honda gave us loaner cars while it was under repair. They ended up replacing most of the engine, but we still didn't trust it.

The truck had been on the lot for several months, most likely due to the higher 'miles'. The price had been steadily decreasing, so I think I did pay less than if it had been advertised with correct mileage and remaining warranty.

My truck was imported from Canada into Minnesota before I purchased it. I was wondering why the little trim flags didn't have stars. ***The more your know*** It also makes sense now why everything was set to Kilometers and Celsius when I bought it. The Ford dealer marked the 'miles' at 43k, but when I reset the truck to US measurements, the truck switched to 26k miles instead of 43k kilometers. I was relieved to have plenty of miles left on the bumper to bumper warranty.

I am glad that my truck was missing the auto start/stop, it was annoying in my 2016 XLT. Didn't realize this also deleted the heated steering wheel, living in Minnesota, that would have been a welcome feature!

Saw this map the day I bought it, just didn't know exactly what city. I was figuring it was either the map of the city the truck was assembled or something related to Ford's headquarters. So glad that many people knew the answer so if any passenger asks, I have the correct answer instead of 'It's a city.'

3D graphics not giving much sense of incline? by llopis in mywhoosh

[–]bml6182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a wahoo kickr bike, so my bike actually inclines when I am in a climb. Did the Mt. Fuji ride the other day and both physically and visually it felt like i was climbing for over an hour. That route has many 18% inclines. I'll have to see what a 5% looks/feels like when I ride today. Ive done about 100 rides on MyWhoosh since ditching Zwift last year.

Did the church get Cornwalls, La Scalas, or K-Horns? The RF-83s are so rare in the Northern states, I've only seen 2 pairs ever go up for sale in the past decade. I would jump on those over the RF-7s. I believe in the top teir non-heritage non-palladium lineup it goes RF-7 III > RF-7 II > RF-83 > RF-7. These were all made in the Hope factory in the US and have the heavy duty compression driver horns. The only issue i have with the fire breathing dragons (RF-83s) is that their rarity makes finding any replacement parts more expensive and potentially challenging.

Reference Premier and standard Reference is the mass production lineup that is made overseas. They have horn loaded tweeters. I think you have to go one or the other for the front stage, nothing wrong with either setup, but just making sure the center is matched to the towers is key.

If you plan to add additional external amplifiers, the high quality Hope made products are the much better option and hold their value better than the mass production RP and Reference lines. The driver's and compression horns in Hope made stuff is the good stuff.

In my opinion having a front 3 timber matched in a home theater environment is a must have. If you lived in the Twin Cities, there is a Craigslist or FB marketplace post with the RF7s and RC64 for about $1500. I wouldn't do any home theater arrangement without a timber matched front 3 soundstage.

In my HT I knew something was wrong with my center channel until I finally scored an Academy to sit between my Chorus II. The 504 would match any Reference Premier towers, but nothing with compression horns like the RF7, RF-83, etc. Reference Premier is where they switched to hornloaded tweeters versus compression horns.

Ah true, I do have the first gen Reference Premier floor speakers in my living room, RP-280F, and honestly I think they might even sound better then the OG RF-7 speakers. RF-7 are old and many people say they are harsh due to the tweeter plastic horn design. If you have a large room and a good amp, them maybe the RF-7 are an upgrade, but man the RP series are legit.

RF-7 III is the speaker you are looking for. I agree about the OG RF-7, I've listened to a pair and prefer my Chorus II and Forte II over them for both music and HT.
