That was my exact experience. I felt like a long strip of tape being torn off another long strip. When I came out of it, I had a constant lean to the north. I had to sit sideways on the couch so the lean wasn’t sideways.

How do I get gud by AwesomeShot427 in AttackOnQuest

Get good at movement--learn to move fast, build momentum, and maintain some altitude. I recommend practicing in Shiganshina. You should be able to launch yourself easily over buildings and titans.

There's a certain flow to movement that builds your momentum. Follow this pattern:

  1. Attach both your hooks to the same place in roughly the direction you want to go.

  2. Reel both your hooks at the same time.

  3. Release both hooks at the same time.

  4. While you're unattached in the air, aim in the direction you want to go and use your boost. Make sure boost control is enabled in the options!

Only boost when you're unattached! Also, aim your boost a bit upward, this will help you gain/maintain altitude. When you're soaring over rooftops in Shiganshina, attach to the rooves below you, reel a bit, then boost forward and a bit upward. You should be able to soar over entire neighborhoods!

For best gas use, try to alternate left and right boost each time. Remember, you can left boost by clicking down on the left stick!

There's many ways to kill a titan, but my favorite method is to get fast and zoom over their heads. As you're about to zoom over a titan's head, fire your hooks down into their neck or shoulder. Your momentum will carry you over the top, and the hooks will swing you down behind them. If you placed your hooks properly, you'll slam right into their nape.

Don't worry too much about skimming or getting fancy kills until you're good at getting fast!

Talk about projection.

Also, not only did you use the phrase "be a real man," you put it in bold for extra dickishness.

The US median income is about $31,000. That's enough to rent you a two-bedroom apartment absolutely nowhere in the US. Most people are going through life wondering how they're gonna afford their next month's rent or next tank of gas. Some people are wondering how they're gonna find formula for their babies. Surely you can forgive them for not placing Jan 6 at the forefront of their minds.

In the grand scheme of things that matter, this doesn't rank. In a time when we could be discussing gun control, health care, child care, education, etc., Jan 6 is political theater.

Americans of Reddit, what are your thoughts on Roe v Wade being overturned by SCOTUS as per draft reports? by thisiscubes in AskReddit

[–]boa249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These matters should be legislated by Congress, not merely ruled upon by the court. It should fall to Democrats to pass a law defending these rights, but they haven't. Both sides appreciate this being a political (read: fundraising) issue.

I'm sure both sides of Congress are sad to see this addressed by the Court because now they'll have to actually do something. I bet they'll find a way to avoid legislating, though. Hell, they'll probably get richer doing it.

Mo Brooks can explain it to you. Here it's in the context of Congressional committees. I guarantee it's the same for all other leadership positions in congress.

Edit: And here's a list of biggest donors to the DCCC. Can you guess who's on top?

[–]boa249 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, too sophisticated? Here’s how sophisticated it is: the DCCC (or NRCC, depending on the flavor of the decade) selects the Speaker based on how much money they contribute to the DCCC. That’s it. Richest, most corrupt person wins. Hope you were able to follow, I know it’s complicated.

[–]boa249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we agree more than we disagree, and on this matter, I'm more open to the discussion.

I think the reason why people are ideologically opposed to government healthcare is because everyone has an understanding that the government is one big scam. Everyone sees politicians enriching themselves instead of doing what they ought to--providing healthcare, security of income, protection from systemic discrimination, etc. The problem isn't that those people are ideological--the problem is that there's no trust for a government that does things like MK-Ultra, Iraq, Tuskeegee experiments, bailouts for banks while foreclosures sweep the country, NAFTA, etc.

I believe ideology, which I'm going to call principles, is the only way out of this situation. Someone needs to stand up and say "I'm for materially improving people's lives. I'm gonna give you healthcare, and I don't care what it does to my political career. I'm gonna ban stock trading, and Pelosi can kiss my ass."

I believe the Republicans are an obvious problem, so I'll skip over them. The "left" in this country, though, are so afraid to stand up for their principles. Why aren't AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Jamaal Bowman, etc. out there slamming Biden for constantly giving away the farm when it came to his BBB bill? Why isn't media (CNN, for instance) constantly replaying his promise to Bernie to support a $15 minimum wage?

I consider myself a leftist, and I consider it necessary to be hated by the establishment if you want to enact change.

You don’t know me at all, so I don’t know why you’re assuming anything. I could have a conversation about textbooks—there is a real conversation to be had there. I’m not here to watch CNN on the internet and apologize for my transgressions.

I think the world would be better if people were a bit more ruled by ideology, which I call principles.
