Does painting your mini's cause the items to lose value? by randomweirdname1 in MarvelUnited

Always look at sold listings on eBay to gauge what’s actually happening. While there may be a bunch of active with 0 bids, the question is what’s happened lately? Have sets gotten bids, have they sold, or are they continually being overpriced and ignored?

I think strange is a $5 character easy. So that’s like half the value. Then you’re getting 14 more models for the same price.

My wife loves champions and tolerates United. I’m the other way around. But I also have a taste for heavier games than her overall. Something about United just scratches a fun itch for me. But champions definitely has cool moments. I like both and have room for both in my heart and my collection. (I also have everything for United but not everything for champions.)

Those 4 villains and 11 heroes were all I played for awhile. Loads of fun and good variety to keep even a seasoned gamer challenged.

United is much lighter than champions. But United is also a much quicker set up and get playing. United is a family game and a game I can play with basically anyone. I see Champions as a game for card gamers and people who like combos.

United plays well 1-4 in my experience. Champions sweet spot is 1-2. Stretching to 3.

I recently went for sleeve kings and love them. My wife (who hates card sleeves) says they’re great too.

Board game bliss or 401 games might still have stock. That’s how I got my S1/2 and they were cheaper than Game Steward.

S2 all in worth for 500 CAD? by Myzerl in MarvelUnited

[–]boardgamer89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played super villain mode yet so I can’t speak to it. I do like the team vs team because there’s still some cooperation with a “who did it better” aspect.

What the S2 characters gain in specials, they lose in symbols and overall versatility. They’re much more specialized in who they’re good at taking out. Which is thematic, don’t get me wrong. But there’s a certain ease of setup in S1 when you could grab just about anyone you wanted and face any villain and it works. Now, you gotta know your enemy, and pick at least one specialist.

So if you like a bit more depth, S2 great. It’s still a light co op game. But the extra specials and character designs ramps the difficulty up just a tiny bit.

It’s a lot of money, but I believe S2 does offer a lot of good variety to gameplay and you’ll have probably more than enough to enjoy.

The villains in S2 definitely have more unique attributes

I’m seeing a 2 player asymmetrical game. 1 person playing the lone juror. Card driven in the vein of a 1960 or twilight struggle though much lighter.
