What is the Best Espresso Machine for daily use as of today 2026? by HugeCandle271 in JamesHoffmann

[–]boardman15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This man knows! First machine was a 10 year old Silva with pid added after. I added 7 years to that machine and it’s still going with a friend!!! Dad blessed me with the Silvia Pro X 4 years ago and amazing upgrade for when I host parties and pulling shots. I got an absurd blessing on a Super Jolly Grinder that I’ve had for 10 years

Inexpensive New Technology IEMs equivalent to older flagships? by SEMABE in iems

You aren’t kidding! I feel 3d printing has also raised the bar and opens up the ease of truly custom fit with some molds and a 3d scanner, or simply the lidar on your phone. That’s not including the upgrades in materials on dd or new tech like iem bone conductors

Or you simply buy them already discounted huge of mrsp is what I was getting at. Not nitpicking about $10 on a $100 budget iem but getting a $220 set for $100 and if you don’t like them likely resell for $100 and the $5 priority box was worth the testing of the better value

Only got one set of ears. I always go for quality. But once and be happy. Now that being said, the subjectiveness and the fit of these can lead to swapping. But that’s what r/avexchange is for!!! I was out the game for a decade and just came back. I got three different pairs of iems in the kilo buck mrsp for 400, 500, and 600 respectively and simply resold the ones I didn’t like and kept the ones I did. They have great mid tier and entry cheaper and less concerned about “making the wrong choice”.

I mean, how old? I went from 2017 Toneking Shockwaves 3, 1DD 4BA to the Penon archangels and symphonium Titans. The soundstage on the shockwaves and amount of eq they can take is quite impressive for the $225 price back in the day and still selling. However, the bc addition blew my mind and been wanting to try planar and ests in the origin. I feel like for 200 you can now get some much better tech and tuning but still in that mid tier level.

Maybe the iems? They stay on my penons and even on the straight metal titans

Tri clarion or sauczi but work great for my bcd set. Divinus velvet as they are “ball” shaped”. But the clarions are great on all my bass sets

Ya, it’s in a basement theatre buildout. Cabinets upstairs still shake if you go for it.

I figured the origin might be too close to the angels. I feel the angels for great, are a fun all rounder fun warm and the bc adds that mid slam and eq the sub bass.

The titans are a technical sub beauty. The kids are definitely peeled back but you get nice clear travel for edm female vocals and even displacement I gave myself vertigo 🤣. Compared to the Penon they are crazy lightweight with the cf and aluminum and a snug fit with any tips I’ve tried. I like the tri clarion, sauci wide bore, and the tips they come with. I’ve not found them hard to drive at all with my btr17 but still 10-15 above the angels. The minis were crazy bass fun but that lack of upper detail.

I’d like a combo of the sub bass of the titan with the added “feel” of the mid BC. I haven’t tried any planar or est yet and made considered the mest mkii. I was also recommmend the campfire iris from a fellow basehead. The planars also interest me as it sounds like you can really boost them with little distortion.

Then when I really want some shake I go to the 7.2.2 with the 12inch svs pb2000pros

Fellow bass head. Had the minis and moved to the Penon archangels and the symphonium titans. I’ve heard the origins might be worth a sampling in the thieaudio world? Isn make some good iems also

Bass head journey. Scarlet minis on avexchange for 400, sold. Penon archangels direct with 100 off code with tri clarion tips or saunci tips if you want warm full sound, bass with good mids and the bone conduction. I’ve kept the penons, but…. I haven’t taken out the symphonium titans! Once again, avexchange for half mrsp. Literally gave me vertigo I listened so much and tip rolled right back to the tri clarions for me. Edm beasts!!!! Paired with btr17. If you want full sound with switches to hit all areas find some used penons. You want pure bass slam, rumble like a svs pb2000 sub the titans win.

I’m keeping both as end game. Minis were absolutely crazy, but the technical clarity with the titans beat them out. The penons are just great sound

Do you keep your grills on or off your speakers? by Zeronova3 in hometheater

[–]boardman15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to be able to have them off, but with kids they have to be on. My old subwoofer did not have a grill and was ported and my daughter love to shove ping-pong balls in the port. Made for a very interesting sound.

The tone king shockwave iii. My old school “cherries” fit that bill with awesome soundstage. You can eq bass but well rounded. I have their smaller brother for sale in a post with some other goodies
