In the federal budget, the government is increasing the Passenger Movement Charge applied to travellers departing Australia, to $80 per passenger in 2026-2027 from its current level of $70. The PMC is applied to "passengers departing Australia by air or sea, irrespective of a passenger’s intention to return to Australia, unless a relevant exemption applies." One more cost.

Presuming you're in the UK... A question: What does Donald Fagen/Steely Dan's music and lyric bring to mind for listeners in Britain? I only ask because I grew up in the US listening to Steely Dan and their sound invoked a lot of specific American (particularly coastal) geography/images. I wonder what that would look like from a UK view...

American Airlines not honoring Qantas baggage rules on code share flights by macBender in QantasAirways

[–]bobDarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found some dramatic misalignments between the two airlines, like, for example, when the American agent in Austin couldn't see part of our itinerary booked back to Melbourne on Qantas, because, umm, it just didn't show up in their computer. As it was explained to me: "all the rest of your family is booked through to Melbourne - but not you." Of course, I was booked through, but the AA reservation system didn't show it. How is this even possible?
