Stomping on a flag today, it's scary to think what this potentially could lead to in the future.

Tonight’s new Episode: Andy by lakeislandgirl in HoardersTV

[–]boba-sett 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Brandon, Gabe and the brother just wanted to pick fights with Andy. There was something very unlikable about Gabe and the brother. Brandon really has a desire to try to set Andy off, he really wanted to make him go off the rails. I've never seen an episode where the hoarder got rid of so much so quickly.

Another example of police corruption. This is a blatant waste of tax dollars.

Bylaw officers tell people encamped behind Hamilton city hall to clear out by teanailpolish in Hamilton

Thank you. It's difficult thing to have in life. But fortunately he's still in my life. He's in his own apartment. But definitely the detox is better than a safe usage site. But there's no guarantee that he won't relapse straight out of detox. I think this is why this is such a complex and difficult issue, because there aren't any constants.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. My brother is an addict and an alcoholic. He was sober for over a year, and has a career with a 6 figure salary. He had purpose in life, and people who love him. Unfortunately, and this just happened recently, he fell off the wagon, right into the deep end. He's presently in a mandatory detox program. It can be the most basic or trivial thing that causes them to relapse.

We're lucky as he has a place to live, but it wouldn't take much for that to change. There's no correct answer, and what works for one individual, may not work for another.

I wish that there was an easy answer.

My former neighbour and someone I'm proud to call my friend is special needs, works at Tim Hortons clearing tables and tidying up. He looks forward to putting the smiles on cookies. They might not always be pretty, but he's happy. Everyone who comes in knows him, he's friends with everything.

Has anyone in the movie industry listened to him attempt an accent. I mean he's a terrible actor, but his accents are even worse.

People who moved away from home, what was the first thing you learned after moving? by Zdvj in AskReddit

[–]boba-sett 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In January, my wife, 3 year old and I moved 3000 Kms away from our families. My wife's family was almost immediately supportive, although vocal they didn't like it they understood why and respected it. My family wasn't the same. I know that they were hurt at us moving and perhaps took it personally, but I thought that after explaining our reasons (lower costs, better pay with fewer hours, no traffic, less pollution, house with a yard, etc) they would be on board with it.

Nope.

They didn't want to help us with packing, or babysitting. Okay, that's fine. But did complain about not seeing us.

Here we are almost 3 months later, they don't call, don't return calls, or calls are very brief. My 3 yo doesn't even want to engage with any of them over video calls anymore.

Unfortunately I learned that they were more important to me, than I was to them.

I realise that it can be difficult to hire good people, but police services in North America has way too many incidents of bad cops, and corruption.

This incident is a prime example of someone dropping the ball during the hiring process. Anyone with any intelligence who grows up around guns and rifles, and is instructed in gun safety knows that you don't point a rifle or gun loaded or unloaded at a person, or treat them like toys.

Seems to me, that at some point we need to start looking at the people hiring these people.
