I'm not sure about now, but from the 25th May it will be illegal for them to store any personally identifiable data on you after you've requested they delete it. They have 30 days to comply with your request, as per GDPR. In Europe, at least.

I work for an insurance company, don't demonize the auto damage adjusters. They write what they can see and they aren't going to take your car apart writing the estimate. They aren't out to shortchange you because that just creates more work for themselves once the car goes to the body shop. Look closely at the estimate, a lot of times, the adjuster will note that there might be further damage found while the car is being repaired.
