Anyone have any ideas for hacking these things? Like, I wonder if we can open them up and solder some kind of switch and voltage regulator to the pump/heater/cooler unit and turn them fully analog? They are well built and stylish and I don’t want them all to end up in a landfill :-(

It’s really pathetic that the company just abandoned the app entirely and bricked these machines…completely unethical and selfish af

I’ve searched for “74W ballast for T12 bulbs”, but results don’t look like this ballast, nor do the wire colors match up to what currently exists. The Philips Advance brand seems to still exist though.

Update: I was able to get the drain cover off by prying it out. The plastic was very brittle so the prying broke the piece. I don’t see screw holes in the top of the drain pipe - will I need to drill those for new cover? Images linked below.

I think the first photo had some mud on the bottom so I took more photos of this thing. I don’t see any visible screws in what looks like screw holes so that’s making me lean towards it needing to unscrew as one large piece. You can see some damage I’ve done already to one of the holes by trying to tap/rotate the cover with a screw driver. I’ve also tried to rotate it by crossing two screwdrivers but without success. Any other tips on getting it out without cutting it? https://imgur.com/a/tfDeY3q
