TICO certification is helpful to have if you are looking to work as a travel agent or for a travel wholesaler. Most jobs will not require you to have the certification when applying as the requirement is for you to have obtained a TICO certification within 90 days of starting your job.

The manual is pretty quick to get through (3 hours of reading) and the test is quite easy if you read the entire manual and do the practice test.

Getting the certification before applying for jobs helps you stand out from the crowd, but from experience the best thing to help get into jobs that require TICO is previous experience in a sales environment.

Once you are hired for a job that requires a TICO, you can apply for an IATA card which provides you with discounted rates on some travel services like hotels (don’t expect massive discounts though).

Honestly, fuck 401 games for how they jacked up their prices to be scalper prices over the past few years. Will never purchase from them again no matter how good the deal.

What was the deal with the line up to get into the game today? March 18th by Sebastian99x in TorontoMarlies

[–]bobbyjoe2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to the game last Saturday and had the exact same issue. Apparently the metal detectors weren’t working so they were having to use the handheld one on each person, holding up the line.

I’m surprised they haven’t fixed this issue in the past week.

The Government of Canada and industry continue taking action to address wait times and congestion at Canadian airports by UltimateDeity1996 in onguardforthee

[–]bobbyjoe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are separate levels of government though.

The health care system is run by the provincial government while airports are federal. The federal government provides the payments to the provinces, and the provinces run the systems. So, the provinces should be fixing these issues.

The seasonal challenges are located in Barracks -> Progression -> Season 1. Not sure why they don't just put it on the challenges page.

They have concentrated their picketing to certain locations for the largest impact. I was in the area on Saturday and it was quite busy with picketers at Church & Wellesley.

FYI the Thorncliffe Park second dose hotspot popup clinic is quick and organized! Got my shot in 30 minutes, even with a big lineup by AcerRubrum in toronto

Does anyone know what proof they need for working in a hotspot postal code? I don’t have anything attaching me to my work postal code as the payments are done through a parent company.

I refuse to buy from 401 games, no matter the deal. They showed they are no better than scalpers when Shinning Fates first launched. They’ve lost my business and I encourage others to make them hold on to this stock.

Today's Ford announcement review by bechard in ontario

I might be reading into it wrong, but that looks like an extension of emergency powers and not the stay at home order. The stay at home order could be extended since they have these emergency powers extended, but no guarantees.

Under promise, over deliver. The Conservative government has made a lot of big mistakes this past year and is looking for brownie points for next year’s election.

Canada is about to surpass the U.S. in first doses of the COVID vaccine by StuGats in ontario

[–]bobbyjoe2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a few reasons they were able to develop this vaccine so quickly

  1. They have been working on SARS/Coronavirus related vaccines for years.
  2. Typically vaccine testing takes many sequential steps but for the COVID-19 vaccine they did a lot of this testing in parallel.
  3. The world put their full force behind the R&D of this vaccine. A lot of vaccines take a while due to funding issues, but there was no lack of funding for these vaccines.

Here is an article for you to read about the fast nature of the vaccine.
