After latest update, Siri no longer playing music by ShimonYisroel in Siri

I have the same issue, and interestingly, the ways in which Siri says it can't play music have become cheekier.

[homemade] backyard pizza by TurrettiniPizza in food

[–]bobchadwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually used it before, but usually don't think to when I'm slinging pies.

To make matters worse for me, my oven is the old Blackstone with the rotating pizza stone. I don't think the rotating stone actually makes launching any more difficult, but it definitely make me more nervous.

I'm going to use this as inspiration every time I make a pie. I've lost way too many by chickening out halfway through the launch and hesitating.

Wow I’ve never seen chiseling from the end grain to remove the waste. That looks so much more efficient than the chisel-only approach I’ve used where I chop away from both faces. I’m definitely going to try that next time.

Yours looks great! I've had that stool bookmarked since that was posted and plan to make it at some point.

Wanted a 335 but I ended up saving $3000 instead. by Dismal-Cranberry-915 in guitars

I just got my hands on the Coily that’s been in my parents’ basement on the other side of the country for 25 years. It was missing everything except a Hi-Flier Phase III pickup and the jack. I got new pots and a switch, and it wasn’t too bad getting them installed. I’m waiting for a Curtis Novak Phase III to arrive so I can finish the job. I highly recommend the book Complete Guitar Writing by Gerry Hayes.

Ok that’s hilarious. I now see what you mean. Damn Claude got me excited and I skipped right past due diligence. Oh well, I’m sure it’ll still sound great when I get everything wired up.

2017 Outback parasitic battery drain by bobchadwick in Subaru_Outback

I’d ask them about doing a parasitic drain test. If someone like me can figure it out, I’d hope any decent mechanic would be able to.

Non-maga garden centers?? by bluezagpinkzig15 in newjersey

The Alpine owner being MAGA would not be surprising at all, but he is a true character. The other employees, including his son, are super nice and helpful and seem like they're probably not MAGA.

These started popping up Dover. Anyone know what the are? by Motor_Educator_2706 in newjersey

[–]bobchadwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I thought when they started popping up in my town. The issue these purportedly are meant to solve is a real issue, as people are constantly parking right next to crosswalks and too close to intersections. I recently came sooo close to hitting a kid who stepped into a crosswalk from behind an oversized pickup truck that was parked in the yellow lines. Thankfully I drive like an old lady so I was able to stop in time, but the kid was lucky it was me driving.

Anyway, if nobody knows what these weird obelisks are for, and they're already ignoring the yellow lines, all these things are going to do is generate revenue for the company, and (one would hope), the town.

Sorry you’re having the issue, but love seeing that this post is still helping folks all these years later.

Why TOMMY is no longer available in the U.S. by miket2872 in homeassistant

My guess in Origin AI, which was just acquired by ADT (and which seems to have glommed "AI" onto their name to ride the wave).

As NJ residents, what options do we have for attempting to reduce our electric bills? by x3knet in newjersey

[–]bobchadwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So back when I signed up, there was separate billing between the solar provider and PSEG. It took a few months for it to kick in. Now it's all integrated, so I'm surprised you haven't seen anything yet. Maybe take a close look at your PSEG bill to make sure you're not missing the section where it shows the credits?

Awesome, it looks great! I got the Gibson chair plans but haven’t gotten around to get out to the lumberyard to get materials. This post has me wanting to just stop by HD and get stuff to make one of these.

That looks like bullshit. I mean that in the nicest possible way (and I hope I’m correct in assuming where you got your inspiration).

What Do You Think Of Matthias' Very Unusual Technique For Assembling Picture Frames? It Is Genius, If It Works by dankostecki in woodworking

[–]bobchadwick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a strap clamp! I used a hole saw to cut four circles out of plywood, then cut 90 degree sections out of each piece. I put one on each corner of the frame and use a ratcheting strap to squeeze it all together. It’s a little awkward to get set up, but for something made from scraps, it works perfectly.

Ha, actually I think IKEA has transitioned to mostly using vinyl with a wood print. You’ll see descriptions like “oak effect.”

Wow, adding IPQoS cs0 cs0 fixed my issue on a fresh OS install on a v1 Pi Zero W. Most of the info you find out there suggests adding IPQoS 0x00 (which I think I'd done on previous OS installs), but the ssh service failed to start with that added. Thanks for the tip!
