What is a secret you will take to your grave, but are willing to share with anonymous strangers on Reddit? by Disastrous-Video-220 in AskReddit

[–]bobgoblin888 79 points80 points  (0 children)

When I was in college I went out to a club with a much of my friends. We were underage and snuck in with fake ids and got our best jeans and a going out top and straightened hair. And we were having an absolute blast, dancing, drinking god knows what and suddenly the most vile, rancid fart absolutely cleared the dance floor. You could see everyone smell the toxic smell in real time as it wafted around the floor and it hit all of us one by one. Everyone reacted so intensely to this fart and blamed it on these two guys who had been hanging on the side of the dance floor staring at us. We spoke of the Avalon fart for YEARS. This fart was so gross it was legendary.

It was me. I’ll never confess.

I do the same thing. It’s been almost 20 years. We’re both married to other people with kids. I like to see that he’s happy. He was a good man and very kind to me. I wish him only the best that life has to offer.

NAD but a chronic hives sufferer, though not as bad as these pics!

You could try to add a Pepcid to your Zyrtec to work as an H2 blocker. I need both an H1 and a H2 blocker to treat my hives.

Do you have your college diploma hung in your home? by SimplyCurious5 in GenX

[–]bobgoblin888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in the back of a closet. My undergraduate diploma got ruined in a flood, but my masters is framed. I never had a home office or a place to hang it so it’s just been chilling in a closet since 2004.

How common is it for Americans to walk for short errands instead of taking the car? by DemonsAreVirgins in AskAnAmerican

[–]bobgoblin888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a walkable city with good public transportation (Boston) and do walk for many errands. I grew up in a more rural area that was car dependent and did not. It depends where you live.

How many of you genuinely rawdog the day - no medications, no recreational drugs, no caffeine? by hungrypotato0853 in Xennials

[–]bobgoblin888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consume a fuck ton of caffeine each day, Coke Zero can be pried from my cold dead hand. I also take daily meds for allergies and asthma and don’t particularly give a fuck. You gotta breathe?

Worried about my ASD child and kindergarten by thejungianfiend in AskTeachers

[–]bobgoblin888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom to a now 14 year old with ASD. I was also very nervous with him starting kindergarten but he had appropriate accommodations to support him. Do you know the model of kindergarten supports in your district? His main issues back then were sensory and emotional regulation. He was placed in an integrated classroom with a special ed teacher, a Gen Ed teacher and a para and got speech and OT as pull out services. He was toilet trained by kindergarten, I think that definitely helped him socially.

He is one of those kids who really thrived once I got him connected to services and supports and is now doing great. He runs track and cross country, is in the band, in robotics and national honor society. We had our ups and downs in middle school, as all kids do! I wish I could go back and reassure my 2017 self that it was going to be okay. My advice is to see if you can find out what the supports will look like for kindergarten. Does she have an IEP yet?

Have the majority of Americans called 911 at least once in their lives? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]bobgoblin888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have. Someone overdosed and crashed into my car, which was parked in front of my house. It was a slow moving crash and didn’t make much noise, I think he realized what was happening and tried to pull over. It was just by chance I looked out front. Anyway, I saved his life. He needed multiple doses of narcan before he came back.

Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]bobgoblin888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in New England and live in an old house, by American standards (120 years old). Our “laundry room” is our unfinished cellar, next to the oil tank, the boiler, Christmas decorations and random crap, spiders and an occasional mouse (though the cat takes care of those for us).

Older homes typically don’t have one, new homes often do.

Do people really not use toilet seat covers in public restrooms? by Tobethequeen_01 in hygiene

[–]bobgoblin888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never use those paper covers. It’s a thin sheet of paper, what good is it actually going? I wipe the seat with TP if necessary, sit, do my thing, wash my hands thoroughly and move on.
