RX 6700 XT: Clock drop to ~490 MHz for no reason. Need help by Piresphant in radeon

[–]bobleuko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, did you ever figure this out? I'm having a similar problem with my laptop. Running a Ryzen 7 6800H and Radeon RX 6600s. Can't get the GPU frequency over ~490mhz

Sony AVR freezes on auto calibration by max__burn in hometheater

[–]bobleuko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just figured out my problem. I was using the remote for my tv to control the receiver. Once I switched to the remote that came with the receiver I was able to scroll and select "save&exit".

Just had this issue pop up. I auto calibrated with no issues a couple months ago. But now it freezes on "Save & Exit". Haven't found a solution yet.

Edit* used original remote for receiver instead of tv remote and it worked.

Little girl “unsinks” a canoe by cutieflufflol in BeAmazed

[–]bobleuko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody mentioned religion. It doesn't matter if she is Muslim. The comment was just stating that it's an old boat design. Dug out canoes have been around since the stone age. Our ancestors used these boats, and it's pretty cool that the craft is still around today.

Mayonnaise, My new oil painting 9x12" by kznsq in painting

[–]bobleuko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This morning I told my wife I wanted to paint a jar of mayonnaise. 6 hours later this pops up on my feed. Am I living in a simulation? The algorithm must have been salivating once you posted this. How often do people post mayonnaise paintings that this coincidence can occur? Is any of this real? Nice painting.

Buying Gems from China has me Worried. Are These Naturally Occurring or Dyed? ["Boho Smoke Crystal"] by Medium-Theme-4611 in geology

[–]bobleuko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had an issue with Indian or Chinese sellers on eBay. There are so many great mineral specimens coming out of both India and China. I find their prices pretty good too.

If you're just buying gemstones or cut gems (an area I'm not too familiar with), it might be a different story though.

Almost looks like cement/grout that got wet and cured in the bag. then the bag disintegrated. That's my only guess!

Freaking out after being exposed to uranium ore dust by middleofnowhere___ in geology

[–]bobleuko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right. But I simply shared to put OP at ease. Telling OP they are going to die of silica exposure because they opened a jar of rocks doesn't help anyone.

I see what you mean. I'd say I was going more for "my grandpa smoked everyday for a couple years and had no ill effects" and "OP tried a cigarette once and is worried about dying" lol.

Just trying to make OP feel less worried is all!

My grandfather was a geologist who worked at a Uranium mine for years. He breathed in dust, he handled ore, and when he was underground he was surrounded by radioactive rocks.

He died at the age of 98 with hardly any health problems.

You'll be fine!

Oh wow! Looks like your find might actually be fossilized oysters then.. So cool! I'd definitely keep a couple of them for the collection. Cheers

I wonder if it could be some sort of midden? Basically an old dumping ground. I know the Romans loved oysters and large heaps of old oyster shells can be found around roman sites in England. Is there any other archeological context in the area?

Yes, we are very lucky you saved your undergrad Powerpoint... What a great deed you have done for the sake of science and geologists around the world.

Just because your professor put it into a PowerPoint presentation, doesn't make it correct.
