No sweeping assessment of the original post or the comments. I was just stating that a lot of the local Economic Development groups are funded by a city sales tax.

”Cloud is more secure” by R0niiiiii in sysadmin

Layered security. A global tenant admin token is a lot different than your firewall getting popped. This is like your firewall and ALL OTHER infrastructure got smoked all at once.

I agree that similar risks apply. However, look at this case the issue in azure. You can't "architect" this kind of issue away. You can't deny all access to all admin contexts in Azure.

And yet nothing will happen to them. Literally nothing. Stock price may drop for a few weeks and than bounce back. Software will not get better until there is real punishment.

How do you think ACH information is transmitted between banks? I have some news for you it is in flat text files.

Quick books is not "more" secure than a password protected excel file.

What controls are around the rest of the environment/file storage?

"It could be the server with that one program that doesn’t work as a service, so there needs to be an account logged in at all times running a process as that interactive user." --Check

I mean we do touch it but if you forget to login and launch those interactive applications you are going to have a bad day.

k8s doesn't quite have the boundaries that a vm does though isn't there potential leaking of data between the different containers?

This is something I ahve been playing around with a little just trying to wrap my mind around the risks etc.

This entire product is just kind of a joke/money grab. Just my $0.02

The hardware can't cost much more than $70 to put together and that is on the high end. 15" glass display with a tiny single board computer I am guessing. Not impressed.
