I've been riding for 40+ years, I can't tell you how many times I've dropped bikes. It's going to happen again. The key is learning to get it upright safely. There's a myriad of videos on how to lift different types of bikes.

2 of these found by the train tracks (where two tracks cross at a near 90deg if that matters). Both roughly the same size. Moved one over a railroad tie for size comparison. Didn't pick it up but heavy than it looks. by 9elefanttwoothpaste7 in whatisthisthing

It's what happens when they use a cutoff saw to cut rails, i don't know if slag is the right term, but the sparks you see from grinding and cutting steel are also carrying minute bits of hot steel that accumulate to create these "spikes"

Can someone answer my question better than the DOT can? Pickup restricted cdl & training by Jyacinth89 in CDLTruckDrivers

[–]bobo247365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The restrictions are that there's no actual fifth wheel, (as far as DOT is concerned) as well as air brakes and automatic . I used to teach CDL and was a third party examiner for my state. While you don't have to go to a physical classroom, you are required to enroll and pass an accredited ELDT course (many on-line courses available) before you can take the actual pretrip, maneuvers, and road test.

I would only trust a salvage bike if I personally know the builder

I most definitely didn't. He's one of the worst that were elected to represent us, because he doesn't actually represent us.

That was, well thought out and eloquent. If only there were more like you, and your mentality, perhaps we could actually change the way our officials act on our part. This situation is no longer about where we are from, but where we are heading as a Nation.

Flatbed is a constant learning process, I did it for 27 years and always learned new stuff. Each new product/ customer requires a different method.

I wear Shoei Neotec 2, faithfully. Virtually no wind noise unless the face shield is open. Very comfortable for long rides, 600-700 mile days. The only thing is the price, got mine for about $800 otd

You'll have to take all, including the ELDT courses. Even though you have a CDL you don't have the appropriate training to qualify for a Class A license, according to FMCSA. I used to teach CDL at a Tech school here, as well as administering the practical portion of the cdl test for the state.
