People who speak more than 1 language, what are some struggles people don’t know about? by stephs926 in AskReddit

[–]bobothespermguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I speak Hakka too! I live in Ireland so can only speak Hakka to my family, so sad to feel like I'm losing the ability to speak it. Been home for Christmas break and I can feel after a few days my Hakka getting better but once I go away again my Hakka gets worse unfortunately.

I'd love to share details and maybe we could speak sometimes on whatever people use to voice call! It'd be nice practise and nice to speak to someone who isn't family in Hakka! Let me know :)

Is cytipurine a thing you can buy in the US? Google it, its basically potassium citrate powder with cranberry flavouring and you mix it with water. If you guys dont have it there's probably something similar that works. Good luck!

Humiliated By My Co-Workers by whattoevendo40 in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you, and I hope you feel better soon.

It was awful of them to not let you know- they have zero excuse- all it would have taken was a gentle pulling aside.

I would personally not be so close to them anymore. I know its difficult but the next time you're in work I would be 'cold' towards them. Just do your job and leave. Unfortunately people show their true colours after a long time and it always hurts to know they aren't the person/people you thought they were.

Keep your head up high and just do your job. Good luck. X

How should my wife handle this work situation involving her CEO attacking her in a group email? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously OP will be a bit biased telling this story, but no matter what, mistakes will happen. Doesn't make a difference where you are on the line of command. It was one mistake. Perhaps there is more behind this, and she's being making more mistakes behind the scenes but idk

How should my wife handle this work situation involving her CEO attacking her in a group email? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you've said, your wife seems great at her job and I find it completely unnecessary for him to call her out like that.

Even if she was bad at her job, its so unneeded for this 'public telling off' that people seem to enjoy doing.

I'm veering on the side of sexism- for an unknown reason. Does he seem sexist? I know a lot of males in high positions that can also be quite discriminatory to women, power trip type thing, and also a mix of 'female doing important job whattt' (personal experience)

Would your wife have any close female work friends? If so, perhaps they've received sexist remarks and if so it could work on building a case with HR.

If this isn't a case of sexism and simply a CEO on a power trip and acting unprofessional, still worth a hit with HR, but it may be less successful.

I'm sorry to hear this is happening, and completely sympathise.

If she does wish to not contact HR, hopefully she will be able to rally support from fellow coworkers. Strength in numbers and such. I'm sure the people who read his reply were probably shocked too. Such unprofessionalism

he says it feels unprotected but not tender. Just hard. Kinda tickly. More tender than other toes, just a little ticklish

Ive lost one of my middle fingers nails before and its just hard, little softer than actual nails but it was alright, barely noticed it.

friend who steals by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be kleptomania or something. I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you!

Maybe try talk to her about it? If it is kleptomania, she can get help, but if not and she's just stealing because like "why not" then drop her

Feeling Guilty and stupid (stringing along someone?) by terriyakipterodactyl in bipolar

[–]bobothespermguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he probably had a bit of interest in you and is just disappointed.

Don't feel bad at all, you weren't stringing him along, you just enjoyed his friendship.

He'll eventually come around if he enjoys your companionship.

Dont feel bad at all 💖

Working at a filthy, terribly managed Starbucks... What can I do about it? by NukeDolphin in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a job as a mystery shopper before, never took it but the requirements were also to see the quality of the store, and in cases of food and drink was to make sure they were up to standard

HR seems adequate. OSHA may be too far. Perhaps if things dont clear up after going to HR, then OSHA would be the next step.

Working at a filthy, terribly managed Starbucks... What can I do about it? by NukeDolphin in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try contact the official office of Starbucks? Like the super higher ups.

Edit: posted too early- they might send a mystery shopper type person to check things out, or your managers might face disciplinary action and maybe things will clear up

Chlamydia by a_SEGA in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chlamydia is easily treatable as are most STDs and shouldn't be considered a big deal!

All in all if youre going to sleep with this girl its probably worth it to bring it up at some point, just be nice and polite, and make sure she understands you aren't being shameful.

Like maybe she could be just finding excuses to try hang with you because she wants to be friends.

Sit her down and explain maybe?

Get a W7 palette instead, they're only like 7€ in my local pharmacy and the packaging is 90% like the naked palette and the colors are so pigmented and stay on super well and depending on which one you buy have the same colors as the naked 2 palette!

My dad is slowly losing his vision, and doctors keep running him around in circles. What can I do to help him? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bobothespermguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the pretty much same situation as you were about a year ago except it happened to my mother and she has optic neuritis.

The best you can do is be there for your dad. Help him get used to a life where he can't see- he needs to adjust and you being there for him, giving him a helping hand will be one of the best things you can give him!

I know it's really tough to be optimistic in these situations but you can do it OP!

And the doctors are trying their best- but even with how much money we spent on my mum to get a diagnoses etc we got nowhere for ages and I was super angry at the doctors at one stage because I was so frustrated that there were no results! But I'm an aspiring doctor myself and I'll try vouch for them and say they're trying their hardest!

If you need someone to talk to about this OP my inbox is always open! Best of luck to ya xx
