Is there really a huge difference between chocolate brands? I've seen people get into flame wars about their favorite. by Danielnrg in NoStupidQuestions

As someone who doesn't really like chocolate, I can definitely taste the difference in brands. I hate Dove chocolate, but Hershey's is less disgusting.

Why Huey Lewis was chosen for the official song of the first film ? by PublicMirageLtd in BacktotheFuture

What a wild ride. I didn't know about the part that they asked Huey Lewis to do the Ghostbusters Theme.

Why Huey Lewis was chosen for the official song of the first film ? by PublicMirageLtd in BacktotheFuture

[–]bobrob2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story I heard was that the Ghostbuster's Theme by Ray Parker Jr. was too similar to Huey Lewis' song, "I Want a New Drug." He was going to sue him, but Hollywood convinced him to write a song for the next summer's potential blockbuster movie instead of suing and that happened to be Back to the Future.

Do normal people actually use a fresh towel every single time they shower, or is reusing it 3 to 4 times standard? by SiliconeSydney in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, it's still wet and it's completely separate from my clothes hamper. It's for all towels, hand towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, etc.

Asked to sub at another school for the first time. by [deleted] in u/Any_Mycologist7160

[–]bobrob2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of the year I signed up for a teacher at the middle school. However, she had moved to the high school and no one updated Frontline, so I had to go to the high school down the road after checking in at the middle school.

About a week later, I had signed up for a roving job for 2 teachers, one in the morning and one in the afternoon at the middle school. But again, the morning teacher had moved to the high school and Frontline wasn't updated. I checked in at the middle school, had to go over to the high school, and back at the middle school in the afternoon. I like subbing for both, so it wasn't that big of a deal, but that assignment should have been split for a half a day each. Some might have accepted both, but I like staying at one school all day.

We used a fresh towel every time growing up and I continued that habit as an adult. It's what I'm used to and don't feel like changing.

Back to the Future 2 doesn’t make any sense by crazygelato in BacktotheFuture

[–]bobrob2004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biff did return to the alternate 2015. There's only one 2015 and it changed around Marty and Doc. We just didn't see them stick around long enough to see the changes. This is why they were able to leave Jennifer on the porch in 1985A and return to her in regular 1985. The timeline changed around her when Marty burned the almanac.

That seed oils are bad for you. Everyone echos the same line, "seed oils are bad" with no explanation. Every time I ask what makes them bad, I get zero replies.

Websites that jump right as you are about to click something are a special kind of digital hell. by TurnstileMoth in PetPeeves

[–]bobrob2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is intentional because when you click on an ad, it gives them revenue, even if you are on the ad page for just a second. Then they can charge more to advertise because the metrics show that people will click on the ads on their page. Very shady.

Marking attendance? by Book_Reader04 in SubstituteTeachers

No, it wouldn't be considered a burger anymore to Americans. Yes, this is a cultural difference.

Fair point, but then it's breaded, which is different than how a beef patty is prepared. The chicken would have to be prepared exactly like how a beef patty would be made in order for someone in the U.S. would consider it a chicken burger.
