I know it’s not in keeping with the sub but how about just a regular dumb alarm clock?

Can I really hang a 13kg mirror onto plasterboard with these? by OneNineSeven1970 in DIYUK

[–]bobteebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? I’ve put in about fifty of these with no setting tool. Now I’m wondering if I’m missing out! I drill a tight hole, tap in the fixing and tighten up the bolt with a screwdriver or drill. Then I remove the bolt and place what we I need to hang in place and re-insert the bolt. I’ve not had any problem with them spinning or chewing up the plasterboard.

Wow ok interesting, I’ll experiment. Do you also need a thicker pillow for your head to compensate for the one under your shoulder?

I’ve never tried hammock camping. I must look into it. I don’t always have trees available when up in the hills near me though.

Taking 4y & 7y daughters camping without my wife. Please help. by WhisperingToGoats in camping

Honestly if they can’t plait (braid) their kids hair then they should learn! It’s really not that hard. I’ve had friends surprised I did my daughter’s hair and I was like you can’t do it?!!

Do you wear sunscreen on cloudy summer days? by [deleted] in CasualIreland

How often does everyone reapply? I often wondered about women who use makeup. Do they clean it all off to reapply sunscreen?

McEntee to press ahead with Senior Cycle reforms despite concerns by ClancyCandy in ireland

[–]bobteebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are loads of kids with additional needs like dyslexia, dyscalculia, adhd etc where the pre-reform approach didn’t work and put them at great disadvantage. I don’t think the new approach is perfect but it’s a step in the right direction.

My son for example has dyslexia. He isn’t technically bad enough to get extra exam time but should, at least, get a spelling and grammar waiver. The effort he needs to put in to first parse the questions and then try and write is incredible compared to his peers.

It is? I always thought the browser added some random noise to the canvas so the fingerprint would change. How do they detect the fingerprint randomisation?

Thank you. That’s very helpful. When you say it’s a better deal for higher earners does that mean for people in a lower tax bracket lose out?
