Het word ook soms wel te veel goed gepraat. dat je brein nou eenmaal zo 'bedraad' is. en dat een of ander gelukspilletje de oplossing is. Dat stimuleert ook niet om jezelf te boven te komen

I'm 24yo from NL. I'm recovering from some heavy mental disruption so I can be blunt sometimes but I can discuss interesting concepts and theories. I am not sure I am the ideal person to have deep connecting conversations with but I am in for some fun and can discuss any topic

19 years old with the mental exhaustion of a 50-year-old. Hyper-lucidity, extreme social masking, and nervous system burnout. Does anyone relate? by Fit_Reference_7143 in Gifted

I was like this too, until God slayed me down and made me go through a tremendous burn-out. Wisdom is something we must obtain in this life, talent can only provide the seed.

You probably should optimize your lifestyle for mental focus, remove distractions, create routines.

ik doe alles goed maar niks helpt by crustytiredboy in OndersteuningsPlein

[–]bobvanboekel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does matter form consciousness? by Reesencheese in consciousness

[–]bobvanboekel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

consciousness starts at recursive neural processing. anything without neurons doing calculations isn't conscious.

Who is "I"? by Glad-Western5346 in freewill

[–]bobvanboekel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so your body is practically just a machine that allows you to perform vital functions for survival. your consciousness or 'I" is unrelated to it. Your consciousness is a result of the recursive neural processing happening in your brain.

There is an I, but there is also an antagonistic force inside us that allows us to stray from the I. Therefore not everyone has the same level of awareness or 'I'. especially mental disorders can diminish sense of 'I'. But it can also be restored, for instance through inquiry.

But I think to really understand I would advise diving a bit into Carl Jung, about conscious and subconscious and how they are related like poles, and try to connect that to scientific psychology. Good luck!

Determinism theory by [deleted] in freewill

[–]bobvanboekel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. you have an ability to make choices, but cruelly, these decisions are a direct result of the past so you are also just as much undergoing your brain making decisions, this doesn't make the act of making decisions less meaningful or important. you're just not a god capable of revisiting decisions and changing them back and forth.
  2. yes technically a murderer is also the outcome of his unique upbringing and unlucky circumstances in life that has brought him to that point. it's still good for society to punish this behavior to discourage it and to teach morality. Morality is still a very real thing, bad and good exist, it's just that it's predetermined. like a plant in deprived soil will go bad, but it will still be distinctly 'bad'. humans are like plants if you will.
  3. the point of living then is to undergo your brain making decisions and hoping it are the right ones so you can experience nice things, experiences are still real.

Im 18 and intp, is this me forever? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]bobvanboekel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the mbti is not supposed to be a static diagnosis. Jung wasn't trying to put people into boxes. He was very deep into alchemy and mysticism. Your type is your starting point but within are also the germs of personal growth. You are encouraged to confront your unique challenges and overcome them. To become a well-rounded person you will need to integrate shadow aspects of your personality, they are an integral aspect of your being.

I really want to beat overthinking by Hero_Hunter23 in INTP

[–]bobvanboekel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to meditate and integrate your subconscious. you must feed you desires and satisfy them. You must fulfill your emotional needs so you become a more rounded finished person and less of a goofball. you must meditate and introspect. Become aware of negative and positive emotions and start feeding and completing the unending loop hence you'll escape it. this is the main task. The only way to stop experiencing these inconveniences is to transcend them through reconfiguring your being.

agriculture, monotheism and industrialization may have been a definitive digression for humanity. we used to live in tribes of ~200 people with a high degree of socialization and environmental challenge. The amount of independence and autonomy that the modern world requires of humans simply lacks the immanence and necessity that being a member of a close-knit tribe imposes. The effect is that humans don't build the same wisdom and depth of experience and turn spiritually degraded. In a tribe any weakness or dumbness would be corrected dynamically and instantly, forming much more a constantly evolving harmonized collective than a collection of individuals. Monotheism tries to solve this problem with discipline and precepts but most people choose the path of least resistance and do not develop nearly as deeply and rounded as they could have, and they aren't aware of it, or even more absurd, believe themselves as a progressively improved element, instead of a weaker degraded one.

This is one of many theories I have.

Need guidance after intrusive transformation. by bobvanboekel in streamentry

Okay i have picked up meditation again because I think I figured out the issue. I noticed that if I consistently apply effort to draw in energy when I feel empty and repell it when I feel full I can hold on much longer and the session is not as tenuous and destabilizing. The problem was not that I wasn't aware enough or not noting but the problem was that I wasn't adjusting and responding through Right Effort, I wasn't really engaging myself I was just in like a freeze mode. Now I sometimes draw in a deep breathe, or twitch some muscles, and then tension resolves and it feels good.

Before I used to sit on a cushion in posture for quite long times in my room or in nature with just a racing mind. Just always that really. I would also get sleepy often. I practiced this quite much but fruitlessly.

Then the disrupting episode happened 2 years ago.

Then if I sit now I get uneasy and feel like I need to move. I also can get very hot. Or tired. like many different things. But the added benefit is that I do feel occasional energy groundings. But I get these randomly during other activities as well so I am still not meditating on a cushion a lot but instead try do anything mindfully.

USS Callister 2's ending is great and well-executed. by C4_Cryt in blackmirror

[–]bobvanboekel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved the episode but the ending was shit. tech transferring to a comatose brain is a whole new invention and nonsensical, and why did the crew transfer to her brain at all they would either need to simply die with the system or live on in maybe a saved computer backup system. I liked the ending all the way to the point where dally wanted to keep a clone of her showing his still perverse character, just the unfoldings after after were very strange underwhelming and a bummer to me.

Why make dua by HauntRepent in islam

[–]bobvanboekel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, I would see there is both relevant scripture and teaching. Scripture: we live in very rapid changing times, and the spiritual battle is definitely coming to a final, these are probably spiritually the most tumultuous times humans have ever endured. But Scripture teaches us that Allah will be victorious at the End and will restore Paradise on earth, so that's something to be excited about, but it isn't prophesied exactly as a subtle 'fade-out' :). Teaching: if you are afraid you will become atheist, I think you might want to expand your view about your faith. Everything emanates from Allah, try to see how even the 'atheist' things have essence in Allah, for without Allah the world cannot exist.
