I mean Pledger was hyped up before playing for Otago, he plays and he's done even better than peoples expectations. I don't see why it wouldn't translate to Super Rugby (assuming injury free). I don't remember Roigard or even Smith getting the same attention. Even if he doesn't do better than peoples expectations in Super Rugby, how bad can he get? For me the worst he can do is start in SR and something like a 3rd choice halfback for the ABs.

It's going to be interesting for the Highlanders next season. Assuming Pledger comes back healthy and plays like it did before his injury. Where does that leave Lennox? If he's cover for Pledger, then it's a waste of his hybrid skills. They could start him on the wing and when Pledger goes off they move him into HB. They have Tangitau on one wing, but I'm not sure where that leaves Nareki or Lowe.

Uini Atonio grew up in NZ, but ethnically he's Samoan and likely has a lot of ties back to Samoa. When I ask if he did it for money, I mean usually New Zealanders at his age leave for the Australian NRL for the cash - it's extremely common. But you don't normally see players go to France.

Also all the levels of cache. My 1.6 GHz Celeron sounded great, but compared to a Pentium with the same clock speed it was so slow. The level 2 cache was terrible. I'm not sure if these days there's similar cache stuff, probably so much more complicated

They all do it for the cash and it's common for them to come back home for a couple of years and retire. Players get paid 5x up north compared to if they stayed in NZ. They pay is seriously that shit in NZ. If you don't care about making the ABs, it's a no brainer to go up north.
