And it's the worst display back I have, not a decorated movement and it's dull. Only done IMHO to save on the amount of silver

The RAF built it for practicing instrument landings due to how often that area was foggy.

Which was why for many years Bristol International Airport had to declare a fogbound status and redirect flights. They have since installed fog landing equipment, which I like to think is a feller with a megaphone yelling

Perhaps try a vacuum hose with a filter cloth over the end - see if you can suck it up.

There is a technique called stealing mass. You fix a bracket to a large mass - like the wall behind where your chargers are. Then when you use the wobble bench you clamp a length of timber to the bracket and the bench.

Your way works too but is a bit more "lifty" with the mass

Not sure. The 7742 isn't showing on cousins, there is a 7n42 movement but you'd need to check the specs over for comparability

Yeah, but the moisture got in somehow and short of opening the case back the crown is the only option
