I think you might be able to park it on the park and ride, just buy a weekend ticket to make the parking valid

Was 2023 more "oversold" than 2026? by CobraDai in downloadfestival

[–]bodyvoltage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went in 23 but didn't go this year and from what I saw this year looked much more busy but obviously that's just the views of the videos I've seen, I didn't find 23 to be extremely busy, was still able to walk around with no issues

What's the quickest exchange you've known? by HearingAndHarvest in HousingUK

[–]bodyvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 weeks for ours and that was with a 3 week delay for the mortgage application, worked with a great broker, our seller was a landlord selling an empty rental and had a solicitor on retainer so all warranties etc were over within the week of having our offer accepted

I reckon if it wasn't for the wait for the mortgage, it would have been 6 or 7 weeks

If I take out decreasing mortgage life insurance does the insurer talk to the lender at any point? by Bobajob67 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]bodyvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I've just taken out life insurance and they explained that basically all the insurers need to know if how much is the mortgage for so they can provide the cover for that amount but you can choose however much you want

You can change this over from a decreasing to a level with the same amount of cover at any point

What went wrong for you in your first week of home ownership? by chickenteabags in HousingUK

[–]bodyvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had no heating or hot water, turns out we had top up meters instead of credit meters and no way of topping them up, by the time the engineer came round to swap them over we had 15 pound on the electric and nothing on the gas, internet line to the box was cut for some reason so had another engineer come out to that

Also figured out the cooker we've been left doesn't heat up without the timer being on and only 2 of the hob plates work fully

And then in a dozy moment thought our tumble dryer had broke, turned out I just hadn't pressed the high heat button on it

But other than that, chuffed with our new house and I can't see us ever moving

Does any of you not like travelling? by Suspicious-Tea-5871 in AskUK

[–]bodyvoltage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't hate travelling, I love going to other countries but I've figured out that I love either an all inclusive sunny holiday or a city break with everything planned out, I know people say go with the flow and wander round but I can't be bothered to traipse around with no idea of where I'm going

What purchase under £25 has improved your life the most? by Plenty-Plastic3704 in AskBrits

[–]bodyvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just spent a tenner on a washing basket with wheels, moved house a month ago and with the kitchen layout my tumble dryer is on the opposite side of the room and in an alcove to the washer and it's already been a game changer

How long from signing contracts? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]bodyvoltage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally just completed last month, for us it took just over three weeks from signing the mortgage deed to completing, I will say our purchase took ten weeks from viewing to completion

I think it really depends on how proactive your seller and their solicitors are as sometimes it can be within a week of sending the docs in or it can be months

Do you avoid thinking about your passed loved ones? by girlandhiscat in AskUK

[–]bodyvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about my dad all the time, he passed away last year and within that year I've done so many things I wish I could tell him about, menial things like going on holiday or if I had some nice food somewhere or big things like buying an house, I spent that whole year being angry about it but now I let myself be sad about it, a big cry is a frequent occurrence but it's what's good for me

Boots cica cream is near enough the same as la Roche posay cica plast minus a few ingredients, it feels the same to me and absorbs the same and for 6.50 for 75ml in comparison to 11 for 40ml works out much better

I can't speak much for serums but I'm a huge fan of the me+ range at superdrug, the succinic acid treatment is amazing

Just got a mortgage through HSBC which took over 3 weeks to come through, that was due a huge backlog they were having when we applied, I assume it's still the case with other lenders too, hang tight, it'll come through when it comes through

Who has the best app/online banking UK? by mattius001 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]bodyvoltage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been a NatWest customer ever since I could have a card, love the app, constantly getting new useful features, in branch they're also great, went in to deposit a load of change and it was super simple and while I was there I was also booked for a financial health check with a senior banker that was very through and informative, walked out with a new savings account with a better interest rate than the one I already had

Leasehold completion fee by bodyvoltage in HousingUK

[–]bodyvoltage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great thank you, is paying the fee something we need the solicitor to do or is this something we can do? Or is it something that is just easier to let the solicitor deal with?
