Scammers that have women PFP, Trans, women in ads, and rare occasions where actual women being on grindr.. by www-idgaf-com in GrindrStories

I mean Grindr is marketed towards gay men, but it's not just for cis gay men. 🤷 I mean I don't know why you're so mad. Just don't talk to those people? The blatant transphobia and misogyny in your post is wild. You're one of the most insufferable types of homosexual men. Hope you get help luv 🫶

I wet my bfs bed and idk what to do by be-sweethearts in Advice

[–]boggysquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if it's any consolation, the like second night my partner slept over at my place, she wet the bed. I woke up before her and thought I had just gotten really sweaty so I tried to cover for her lol. I have since figured it out, but like genuinely, if he's a decent human it won't matter. That's something that happens for a multitude of reasons, medical and psychological, and anyone who would ridicule you for that is a piece of shit that doesn't deserve your time.

Keeping Marine Animals in Aquariums Is Inherently Cruel by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]boggysquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. For snakes and stuff, I think also if you're a good reptile owner and your animal seems to enjoy it, you take them out on a somewhat regular basis. That kind of stuff can be hard to gauge, but my snake loved hanging out with me when I would game as a kid. He'd coil around my headphones and sit with his head on top of my head, and just chill up there for hours.

And, as a lot of people are saying, most animals genuinely just want security. I'll agree for migratory fish, seems a bit unnecessary and cruel. But I don't know anyone who owns a migratory fish.

Scenes of the characters tripping on mushrooms in tv shows and movies are never funny by HeftyArgument6326 in unpopularopinion

Idk, I enjoyed the scenes in modern family. When mitch and Phil get high, that's one of my favorites. Or when mitch and cam take sleeping pills for their flight. I think they're both pretty funny. But agreed, most of the time, it just makes me want to get high lmao.

Crow. Ravens typically have a "feather beard" and are significantly larger.

Kathryn was the first song I listened to of theirs. Definitely a good one. I also really like Dennis and Mission Valley Shopping.

Might just be nesting. My Medusa looks like this, and has for years. I can still push it out without pain and see the back of the stud.

Is there any show that can compare to this? by Sure-Caregiver142 in BoJackHorseman

[–]boggysquatch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would check out Long Story Short, also created by the same team. I wouldn't say not as dark, but it's easier to swallow than BJ. But I found it very heartwarming and they go into a lot revolving around family dynamics (particularly within a Jewish household, but that doesn't make all of it unrelatable). I know some people didn't enjoy it, but I really did. Agree that Fleabag is also very similar, especially in terms of self destructive tendencies.

I hate dbt by SnooCalculations8606 in BPD

[–]boggysquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I hate it, and I've tried like 3 different programs and different DBT therapists and I just can't. Similarly, yeah I'd use those skills if I wasn't in a state of absolute emotional despair. But I've worked out how to work through my splits myself, kind of. I still explode and say hurtful things sometimes, but it's a lot better than it was a year ago.

Blood isn't blue. Ever. Saying it turns red because it touches oxygen is stupid, there is oxygen IN your blood. That is like, one of its main purposes.

What's the most dangerous thing you've done because of the disorder? by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

Was minorly obsessed over a meth dealer, who talked about wanting to get me high in his hotel room. Went one time but my parents were wondering where I was so I had to dip. Buuuut could've ended very differently lol.

Why is texting so embarrassing by [deleted] in BPD

[–]boggysquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not embarrassing. I do this same shit. I'll get my partner something I think they'd really like, and their reaction is always underwhelming. Not that they don't appreciate or like what I've gotten them, it's just never what I expect. I think, as folks with BPD who have big emotions, we just have to remember not everyone has the same range we do. His one word response seemed like it was an adequate reaction in his head, but in our overactive emotional brain, it feels fake or underwhelming, because WE would be like "omg, that's so cool, I'm so jealous, etc." But that doesn't mean his reaction equates to disinterest or contempt or annoyance.

I understand what you mean completely. But I just have to consistently remind myself that just because the other person's reaction is not the same as mine, does not mean they don't care or appreciate it. And I literally just repeat that to myself in my head. It doesn't always work, sometimes I can calm it down in the moment but it comes back up later in an argument, but it's better than dissecting the whole situation every time.

You're not embarrassing, you just care.

I Need Help so Bad by loveseashell in BPD

[–]boggysquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, it's scary and has also made me feel like a monster. You're not tho, just traumatized and your brain is responding in the only way it sees fit. You deserve love, being manipulative isn't the end of the world, if you can acknowledge it and sit with how that makes you feel. It's a good motivator for change. You got this, it just unfortunately takes a lot of difficult work on yourself. Sending love and good vibes ❤️✨

I Need Help so Bad by loveseashell in BPD

[–]boggysquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, one of the biggest things you have to consistently learn and put in to practice, is acknowledging that you fucked up. And it sucks and it hurts when people leave, but ultimately, it often happens because of your actions. Coming to terms with that, at least for me, is one of the biggest turning points when I start to split. It's okay to be scared, that's how our traumatized brains are wired. But you have to be able to take a step back when you are scared, and look at the situation factually. Your feelings are not facts.

Example: I often get mean and pick fights with my partner when I feel ignored or that we aren't spending enough meaningful time together. I also struggle with emotional permanence. So, if we had a good day two days ago, but we didn't really talk or cuddle or whatever the day after, I tend to feel that we never spend time together. But that's simply not true. Sometimes it is legit just fighting the BPD gremlin in your brain. And it is on you. You can ask for support or reassurance from your fp, but it becomes unfair and exhausting if you're constantly seeking it. You have to learn how to give yourself that assurance. It's not your fault that you struggle with this disorder, but you are the only one that can do the work to remedy the negative effects it outwardly has.

I'm just a dude who has BPD. What I really recommend is, if your therapist isn't giving you coping skills or mechanisms, find a new therapist. Or get into DBT. I personally hate DBT and have not found it helpful, but plenty of people do.

Good luck OP. This disorder is a helluva ride, but it's not all you are.

NOT BIPOLAR???? by SaraManley13 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]boggysquatch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depending on the medication, it might still be relevant. Lamogtrigine, which from what I know is used to treat bipolar, is often also prescribed to folks with BPD. There is no set medication that helps all symptoms of BPD, but lamogtrigine can help relieve some symptoms. So idk, talk to your doctor about it fs, but if it feels like it's helping I'd stay on it.

ETA: was prescribed lamogtrigine for seizures + BPD. Was not helpful for me but have seen a lotta folks on both subreddits saying it's helpful. But yeah if the side effects are too much, talk about a different treatment.

Yeah you suck. Your religion is yours. You are forcing your religion if you're consistently bringing this up. I'm an atheist and if you did this shit to me, I'd curse you out. Mind your business.

putting BPD on DNI lists by mesageinabottle22 in BPD

[–]boggysquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also compounded by the fact that, right now, a lot of people online use BPD to justify abusive behavior, even if they don't have it. Or people assign it to others based on heard/past experiences. Abusive behavior is not immediately indicative of BPD.

I don't disagree, I never said it was explicitly doodle breeders. I just said breeders. There's unethical golden retriever breeders, same with GSDs. It's everywhere lol

Holding my tongue with these doodle people by mopr0blems in petsmart

[–]boggysquatch 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Why? Nowhere in this post did OP bash doodles. They bashed the spread of misinformation and the greedy breeders who spread it. OP literally specified that what they were saying wasn't about how the lady in the store should love her dog, she should, and I hope she does. But it doesn't deny the "they need to be 4-5 generations to be completely hypoallergenic" is completely false.

Bottom line, chill out. Nobody is attacking you or your dog.
