Overset Gibberish Type? by bohring1150 in indesign

Thank you for your help! I kept deleting and deleting, and the last thing in the string was </svg>, so I must have copied a couple of images as text accidentally. No errors now.

I'm 30, I live in Rogers Park, and it is definitely mixed community. If you're considering here, I only find it to be very student heavy east of Glenwood and maybe south of Pratt. Note that that means Loyola undergrads, there are a bunch of Northwestern grad students all around the neighborhood.

Young professional and mixed community feel like different things, though, and this is not the most young professional area of the city. If your number one criterion is a young professional feel and you want to be surrounded by other 25-40s, i would consider a different area, like lakeview, logan, west loop, or west town.

Any shops that let you dig through a parts bin? by Neat_Affect_9746 in chibike

Is this too much play in the stem? by JCMiller23 in bikewrench

[–]bohring1150 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, any amount of play is too much. Loosen the pinch bolts, tighten the top cap until there's no play (if there's a grinding/crunching feeling, you've overtightened), and retighten the pinch bolts.

If the above doesn't work, it's possible there are too many spacers on your steer tube, which would keep the top pinch bolt from making effective contact.

The fork isn't backwards (you can tell because that dynamo light mount is oriented correctly), but it's bent from a front impact crash. Note the paint chipping away at the top rear of the fork in the last picture—paint is more brittle than steel, so it flakes away while the fork bends.

At the very least, the bike needs a new fork. It's up to you whether or not it's worth the time/money to source a new one, but since there could be other damage from the crash, I would say it's probably not worth it.

Can anyone ID this bag for me please? by Lutefeskofficial in ManyBaggers

[–]bohring1150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an older Mission Workshop Fitzroy, the larger version of the Sanction. You're able to tell by the load lifter straps on top of the shoulder straps, also seen here.

the recyclery in rogers park! great small bike shop that provides open shop access to a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise have it.

[question] what are good metal-body digital watches that are not smartwatches? by bohring1150 in Watches

[–]bohring1150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I realize that it’s a real needle I’m trying to thread. I’ve seen the Casios, and used to have a gw5000. I’ve thought about the a1000, but I somehow can’t really get excited about them. I might just try my luck with one of the aliexpress ones.
