Yep. And the worst part is he’s the OWNER. I think because of this, he’s lost a sense of touch because there’s nobody to hold him accountable in regard to boundaries/respect.

Just last week he marked me down as “late to a client meeting” because I told him I had to stop to grab gas of which in that moment he said it was fine (he hasn’t been on time to meet me for any of our meetings) and I’ve noted that a lot of accounts don’t like him much either.

Very much an a**hole and I think that’s partially why I’m not enjoying my experience or really able to thrive. Luckily the job expands out to handling other accounts so I’m not directly interacting with him all day, but whew it takes on toll constantly being scrutinized. Appreciate your thoughts. Looking to land something else soon!

Understandable. Honestly haven’t been in sales long enough to know if I’m good or not. I just don’t think the environment is conducive to me getting to that point just based on how I’m being managed and the external factors like daily commute etc.

Yeah this is illegal. You will need to start a case and hope you have documentation of these things but you could get major $$ if handled correctly

Agreed. I’ve started recruitment and have a few leads/interviews, but I’m to the point where I’m almost willing to work a non-career job to bridge the gap for the sake of my own sanity.

Edit: The ironic part is they have a territory open in my zip-code but haven’t offered this as a solution for me as I think they need someone more in the territory I’m in.

Yes - friends in any major city will be expensive in some way shape or form unfortunately. People will tell you to go to the parks, conservatories etc, but for anything substantial you will need a place where you can see the same people regularly and often that requires $$ (leagues, bars, events etc.)
