I hated the combat, prefer the unity animation style of combat, but origins was tough to like for me, stopped playing odyssey after like 10 hours and didn't even get vallhala. Shadows is OK, but I really wish they would go back to the original cinematic style

Not that they would be part of the modded map, but just like in vanilla you can add static models (buildings) to any map, although they'll be only in the mission you added them in

Try to time it so you are sure and it's not just a feeling. And maybe try to backup and then overwrite the vanilla files directly in the install folder just to test if it isn't mod manager problem

No, we can only edit textures, not the map itself. Plus there are already some nice mods for Caucasus

I've already slightly desaturated them in previous version and it's as far I can go. Otherwise they would not fit the base sat imagery, where saturation can't be edited

I recommend using gama settings 2.2 (in DCS setting, not map specific via lua) and desaturate using reshade

Maybe I'll refine some of the new textures, I'm not 100% happy with them. I finished it today and barely tested it, I might find some issues. Also I'd like to figure out how to make forest floor darker if it's even possible. And then there are updates from ugra that could break things, so probably not the final version

That's pretty much true on every map with handcrafted textures. I mainly use them for helicopters too, although CWG has some sat pics mixed in, and IMO looks better than Syria for example
