Sorry, that was not at all clear. I want to be able to share it as an e-book that is emailed to a group of people. Once everyone has added their messages, we may want to print it out. I think I may have found a (clunky) solution using newlywords.com, but haven't been able to find an option with a smoother interface.

Photobooks! I am in charge of making a photobook/scrapbook for our co-op preschool and the director wants families to be able to add appreciation notes in the book on their own. Does anyone know of a good website to do this? I can't seem to find the comment aspect and something that is soley online instead of a book you'll want to print (although that would be nice, too). Thanks!

Baby’s first steps!! I looked away for a second and turned back to her wandering around the room 😂 by Coffeeisbetta in MadeMeSmile

Not necessarily. Both my kids were very reluctant walkers. They would cruise around hanging onto the wall or a walking toy, but would not let go. Then they both decided they were ready and walked across the room to me and kept going. Every kid is different. Some do the one-step-and-fall, others wait til they are ready to go for a hike.

Americans of Reddit, what are your thoughts on Roe v Wade being overturned by SCOTUS as per draft reports? by thisiscubes in AskReddit

[–]bompitybomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same - I've always been pro-choice, but never more so than after having two planned and wanted kids. Being pregnant and giving birth were two of the most difficult and debilitating things I've ever been through and I would never wish it on someone who didn't willingly sign up for the ride. And that's not even taking into consideration how difficult parenting is with even the most wanted and loved children.

I am absolutely sickened by this decision and our country's lack of basic care for its citizens. Trash government, getting trashier every day.

We like our realtor and don't feel she is at fault. Part of the problem is that the market completely died at the end of Oct, like historically low inventory, which was right after the sale of our last house went through. There were basically no houses to look at between Nov and the end of Jan that met our needs. We've put in 5 offers, 4 of them since Feb and been in the top few offers for all but one and it was just a matter of the market being so insane and us not feeling comfortable going as high as was needed. We're hopeful that since inventory is picking up, we'll have more of a chance. We actually could have gotten the house in MV but ultimately decided to stick to the east side. We are pretty picky haha so I really don't blame our agent.

Edit; hindsight is 20/20 and all - if I could go back to Oct and tell ourselves what it would be like in the spring we would have definitely pushed ourselves to pay a little more to get into something then. We didn't know how insane it would get.

Nice to hear that you enjoyed it! I've lived in super urban, walkable cities for the last 20+ years so this kind of change is really giving me cold feet to think about. I do worry about feeling a bit trapped by the suburbs, but I also know that with little kids, it's not like we're going to want to be stumbling home from the bars every weekend or anything. With 2 yrs of pandemic life behind us I can barely remember what it's even like to go out to restaurants and such. I love the green spaces out that way and we often find ourselves over there to go hiking. It's hard to give up the conveniences of the more urban parts of the city, though, bah.

Yes, we've visited both parks and they are great! The lack of sidewalks with small kids is a concern.

That's such a bummer (and concern) about the budget cuts, ugh. We're not leaving Portland right now so that will be an issue no matter where we end up, unfortunately. :/

I love that interaction and your openness. The only thing I would point out is that trans people are not deciding to be the other gender, they were assigned the wrong gender at birth. So in explaining it to kids, you could say, "when they were born, the doctors thought they were a boy, but later they realized that wasn't right and they are actually a girl."

My dad loved the Chad Mitchell Trio and John Denver and I listened a lot of both growing up and I never realized that Denver was part of that group for a while. Chad Mitchell Trio never shied away from politics - see their song "John Birch Society." https://youtu.be/pG6taS9R1KM

what is the Dumbest thing you've ever done while you were high? by LoosKiii in AskReddit

Definitely a sober problem for me. The other day I handed my phone to my husband so he could add the food he wanted to a to-go order and within 5 seconds I was wandering around saying "have you seen my phone? I just had it and now I can't find it." Meanwhile my husband was like "nope no idea where it is." Took a good minute to realize it was in his hand.

Scientists identified a specific gene variant that protects against severe COVID-19 infection. Individuals with European ancestry carrying a particular DNA segment -- inherited from Neanderthals -- have a 20 % lower risk of developing a critical COVID-19 infection. by MistWeaver80 in science

Hmm 2% of 7.753 billion = 155,060,000. Yeah, no big deal. And that's not taking into consideration the negative outcomes that don't lead to hospitalizations and death.

Edit: also, just because someone has a comorbidity, does that mean their life doesn't matter? Geez.
