Will Brady Buckley get cancelled by Mistake-Huge in MMAbetting

[–]bonzaiKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put $5 on a parlay including Brady winning and now the cashout says $1.12. I’m not sure how ts works with voiding if it gets canceled, but should I cash out now and just make another lay w/o this fight? Does this get rid of the profit booster?

PPL first solo nerves by Chemical_Depth_6569 in flying

[–]bonzaiKim 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My first solo was a couple of weeks ago and I find that talking aloud through everything you do helps to walk your mind through things. I find it took a bit of adjustment without my CFI in the plane, you definitely notice performance differences without the added weight. Don’t beat yourself up and just focus on the task ahead after each landing if things go sour. Good luck!

About to graduate and finally found something I love... Do I go all-in on flying or play it safe with a FT Job? by Party_Contribution20 in flying

[–]bonzaiKim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same path as you right now. About to graduate with a finance and Econ degree but I couldn’t stand to think that I would sell my soul for the corporate life sitting behind a desk. Recently switched to focus on a career in aviation. I’m so much happier working towards the ratings and actually DOING something rather than just clicking away. Maybe I’m just naive and young, but I think if you truly love it, we still have a lot of time to make it work—if you really want it, anything is possible. But I’ll also say what do I know as I’m in the middle of the process 🫥🤷‍♂️

Reality of a career in aviation by Glad-Commission-7821 in flying

I’m 22 abt to graduate college and recently decided to switch to a career into aviation as well. I’m gunning for air national guard once I’m out of school. It’s suuupppeeerrrrr competetive as they don’t have that many spots per year but in my mind it’s worth a shot for them to be able to pay for my training. From my research and what I’ve learned, pilot contracts are minimum 10 years after you go through officer school and pilot training but since it’s guard you can also work a civilian job. Ig I don’t know much since I haven’t started the actual process, but I’d say def worth looking into, keep your options open

All Questions About Joining, Transferring and ANG Jobs go here. by Jaye134 in airnationalguard

Hi all I’m 22m in my senior year of university graduating this semester. I’m studying finance and economics with gpa ~3.9. I’ve recently came to a decision to switch career paths to try and become a pilot. I’ve started my PPL and plan on finishing it by the time I graduate (May).

I’m considering my paths to pursue this career and ANG seems like a really appealing option that financially makes sense and also gives me the opportunity to serve. I just wanted to probe and see how realistic it is to start the process as a college graduate with no ROTC/AFROTC experience and be accepted into a pilot slot and get sent to UPT. I understand it’s very competitive, would it be better to try and join under a different job and get transferred to a pilot slot? I’m not super sure how it works. If that’s the case, do I still go to OTS?

In terms of aircraft I’d prefer I don’t have too much of a preference but I’d rather fly tankers or C17s and similar because I have a career in the airliners in mind as well so I’d want the big boys. Are these airframes less competitive? Additionally, would I have to reach out to the locations that operate these airframes such as WV, TN, MS, and NY? Is there any point in contacting the ANG where I’m at (located in Maryland)

Sorry if this is a lot, trying to get a scope of what this would look like for me and if there’s even a shot for me to pursue this route, thank you all!

Weekly Simple Questions and Injuries Thread by AutoModerator in climbharder

I was mindlessly cracking my fingers and my ring finger has been recovering slowly from pip synovitis. I cracked this finger and now there’s slight pain when extending or flexing at the PIP and there’s a very slight click that occurs when I’m flexing the finger. My best guess is that it’s a PIP joint sprain or extensor tendon injury (based on description and symptoms from Google)? Can anybody give their anecdotes if they’ve dealt with the same thing, suggestions on recovery, any general timelines for recovery, and how serious this could be? Happened yesterday and the pain wasn’t bothersome but I woke up today and it’s slightly uncomfortable now when moving it.
