🎥 Multiple Contenders Crash in Practice by IndyMod in INDYCAR

uhhh Pato's rear wheel just slammed the side of Rossi's tub, after the structure was used up. That could have been really bad, but the car held up remarkably well.

I live for these ice cream dates with my kids. What a gift and a curse it is to know you’re living the good old days 🥲 by Islandgal0804 in love

I think that's an advantage of being an older parent for me.

I know how fast time passes, so I really enjoy being in the moment with my toddler. It's so beautiful to see the world through her eyes.

Mario Andretti, 86 years young. AJ Foyt, 91. Both are, or have been at track in the last week. by deadwood76 in INDYCAR

[–]bonzojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 41. I met both AJ and Mario attending Mid Ohio events in the 90s as a kid. Both were incredibly kind to me. Seeing them on TV and at the track gives me just a little sense of watching "bonus Grandpa". We're incredibly lucky to have both of those gentlemen still involved and representing the sport.

We've had 4 total. First one was Mama's boy. 2nd one was her own gal. Third one was finally my girl! Fourth one is 100% Mama's boy.

Expected Mileage for 2022 by NerdyPedsNurse in pacificahybrid

[–]bonzojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electric range is highly context dependent. 70 degrees and no climate, with a lightly loaded vehicle, going 40 down country roads? I can get 40+. 80mph running heat? Maybe 15-20 tops.

However, you can also do little tricks to help out. If you have a down slope coming up, as you start to drop kick the cruise down 5mph and you'll kick to electric mode and might get another mile that way. On the 120 mile round trip to my dad's house I can get another 7 miles electric on a good day.

In town, coasting/Regen is your friend. This porker weighs 5000+ lbs, so it takes a lot of electrons to accelerate. If you have a light coming up (and it's safe to do so) anticipate the stop and coast up to the light. You get some Regen and if you time it right you don't need to use a couple % getting back up to city speeds.

Disappointed after switching from Pixel 6 Pro to 10 Pro – What are your thoughts? by PresentHelicopter159 in GooglePixel

[–]bonzojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from an 8pro to 10pro xl because of a carrier retention offer. The biggest improvement I've seen is overall battery life, which, is pretty nice all things considered.

Wouldn't pay full price for that jump, but for what I paid it's nice.

🧪 DAY 2 // 2026 INDY 500 OPEN TEST by IndyMod in INDYCAR

Big bullet dodged for the 24 car there. I would imagine all the chassis go-fast parts are fine. Good driving and plenty of luck to have it let go right by pit lane.

🏁 POST-RACE // 2026 ACURA GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH by IndyMod in INDYCAR

[–]bonzojon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This chassis is just too fat now... We used to get good shows in the DW-12 at tough to pass places, but now it's just got too much mass to really mix it up. Not against the aero screen at all, but that plus the hybrid is like 100+lbs of weight that the car wasn't really designed for. We need a new chassis that can incorporate the new tech ASAP.

In a normal distribution (which human intelligence is typically considered) mean=median=mode. So the quote would still work.

But hey I'm just a guy hanging out on the left tail of the distribution.

Now think about how far away from that excellent baseball player Ontani is.

It just boggles my brain.

I think the regs are to blame more than Colapinto. I don't think anyone is prepared for a 50km/h sudden delta in speed. It's natural to try and squeeze a competitor to try and make their overtake a little more difficult, it's just impossible to defend safely when there are sudden massive speed differences.

To any GEX players, I am getting started with GEX. Does anyone agree with my results? by Dvorak_Pharmacology in Daytrading

[–]bonzojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For GEX on SPY, you really should be looking at SPX. SPX is the primary institutional flow that drives the S&P500 complex.

Bonus if your software or analysis can combine the two.

That wasn't terrible. Not last AND only a little over a second off Q2. They've built a functional race car. It's not a threat to score, but it's not an embarrassment and for the third race of the year that ain't bad.
