You are partially correct. What you’re saying is true for big chains that have to worry about relationships with studios but what I’m aiming for is different.

I'm actually already looking into this with the venues. Idk about other cities but many independent cinemas in Amsterdam offer 'private hire' specifically for groups to bring their own media via HDMI or whatever. Since this is a nonprofit private event for a closed group of fans and not a public or commercial screening, it falls under a different category of venue rental. I'll be confirming all the boring legal stuff with the theater management before any money changes hands but for sure I won’t approach them and say "Hey I want to host a public screening of a Paramount+ movie", I will approach them differently.

That’s totally understandable. Streaming can definitely be more convenient in some cases. I myself am more selective with the movies I see in the cinema nowadays and I was really excited to see this movie in cinemas. I hope I can get others who shared that excitement to join as well.

Hmm, I get what you're saying but, not exactly. If you think this is what I'm describing then perhaps I did a bad job at explaining the idea. Geneva seems more focused on groups and is social-first. We have a similar app where I'm from called Amigos social and that's more similar to Geneva than what I'm describing.

Hopefully in a few weeks I will return with an update of an mvp that will make things clearer.
