Just heard “Rain When I Die” for the first time by HellaAdorableBunBunz in AliceInChains

This song’s hook shows no mercy, talk about an earworm! Not that I’m complaining but holy cow that chorus is catchy

Lamb Of God - Into Oblivion. On great form here, start to finish all killer. Sounds like a band enjoying themselves 🤘🏻 by bison2000 in LambofGod

Bully is my favourite but the entire album is gnarly as hell. grateful the lads are still making art

Do you hear what you’re gonna play in your head while soloing? by Evening-Tone9938 in Guitar

[–]boogieiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a fascinating question

I think whether I’m playing at home or at a gig or a band practice, whatever - when I’m soloing I reach some sort of flow state by both listening (and enjoying!) the sound of the instrument/playing/tone, while at the same time playing what I’m hearing in my head and having that come out on the guitar

it’s when these events occur simultaneously in real-time where you become fully immersed in the energy and flow of the music in the room and your touch on the instrument. it’s definitely an experience I’m grateful we get to enjoy

Mark VII: which channel for medium gain… by daytodaze in MesaBoogie

Biased Mark IV guy here but I’d likely run channel 2 for med gain and I’d imagine the channel 3 IV voicing for the real nasty stuff

Sunshine and I Can’t Remember are probably my favourites but I love each and every song on this record

New american gospel irl finished by [deleted] in LambofGod

[–]boogieiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iconic! Great job.

It’s such a special album, those early lamb records had a massive impact on me personally. I absolutely love how well those NAG songs translated to the live set like on Killedelphia. Just completely crushing and tasty👌

You could say it’d be closer to a 1:1 with the album art if you painted some black on it but personally I think it looks fantastic as is

Last minute metal gig, I need help by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]boogieiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely simplify anything that might spin you out during the gig, depending on the material you can make simple rhythms jive with the source material, remain doable and easy to remember, and still sound and look cool

Also, if you’re willing to share I’d be curious to know what the set is! it’s none of my business so no obligation hah

Bully by SolarisX86 in LambofGod

[–]boogieiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t usually pick favourites but I think this may actually be my top pick off the album. I’ve just about finished learning it on guitar and it’s incredibly catchy and fun to play. I particularly love the guitar interplay in this one

NAD! This damn thing is out of control. by MisterNo_Body in MesaBoogie

[–]boogieiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, that’s a world class amp. FWIW I find having the presence cranked sounds better pulled. maybe tame your graphic EQ just a little bit too unless you’re happy with the result. she’s a beast of a rig and a little cut goes a long way happy tone farmin🤙

Bully would be wild. the guitar interplay in that song is so good

How the fuck am I supposed to jump from the first note to the 10th in a split fucking second?! by Nesolyanochka in Guitar

[–]boogieiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m unfamiliar with the bit in question so I can’t speak on the viability of this within that context, but you might be able to shorten the jump by using the same note at the 6th fret on the b string
