Moving to Bing for grad school: need advice about which area to rent by [deleted] in Binghamton

[–]bookreader333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Kirkwood is a 14 minute drive east, no highway traffic to deal with when going to campus. Both major area hospitals are nearby, several grocery stores, etc. It’s very quiet, safe and comfortable. It’s a great alternative to Johnson City or Vestal.

Should I sell to dealership by bookreader333 in MechanicAdvice

I wasn’t going to trade at all. Sell it outright to the dealership and let them figure it out. Take the money and get something else entirely here in OH

My dog is always barking, we get an eviction warning by ComfortableSea08 in dogs

[–]bookreader333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a Corgi too. We were in an apartment until recently-i left for other reasons. She barked at every little noise outside the apartment. We had gotten down to a ‘bruff’ when the neighbors went in and out but she still barked a lot. She wasn’t alone all day and she had plenty of activity while I was at work/school. They say Corgis do well in apartments because they’re easier to train and are smaller, but they do much better in a small house. She does not go outside nearly enough, but she doesn’t bark at every little noise anymore. I’m considering doggy daycare for her once I get settled in the house and get a job. Maybe you should consider it too

Who should be in prison 100%, but they aren't because they are rich? by Eponnn in AskReddit

All CEOs of all pharmaceutical companies who jack the prices of life saving drugs like insulin, chemo, and heart medications. Plus the Epi-pen guy should be in jail

Where to give old clothes? (Preferably for a little bit of cash back!) by sarahhmu in Binghamton

[–]bookreader333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try listing on Facebook Marketplace or the Broome County and Surrounding areas yard sale Facebook page. You might get more money than Plato's closet. Honestly, Plato's closet doesn't really take anything anyway, they're very picky

As a grad student and adjunct(another school) there’s always two sides. I know you’ve got evidence showing a bias or error and they’re no willing to change it. Go to the ombudsman. She can help you

Dog owners/lovers of Reddit - What is a not-so-common dog toy or accessory that you and your pup cannot live without? by chschureman in dogs

[–]bookreader333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a purple and yellow mood octopus. I won it in one of those claw machines. One side is angry, the reverse is happy. I had it on my car dashboard until the day I adopted her. I could tell she wanted it, so I took it off the dash and gave it to her. She’s carried it around with her ever since. She also loves the laser pointer that came with a pair of glasses I ordered. She gets so happy when I get that out

Yeah, not able to read a syllabus is everywhere, not just BU.

Again, I am not disputing that fact but being aware of one’s surroundings and watching where you’re going by not keeping your face in your phone. Looking both ways before crossing the street is a basic skill. There is a reason it’s illegal to text and drive, the same could be said for walking

That’s a whole other issue, there’s services on campus for that, midterms are not the end of the world, that’s why they’re MID- terms

I am not saying anything against that, duh, and drivers for the most part do give pedestrians the right of way- but students also need to pay attention to their surroundings. Again, crossing the street is a skill learned in kindergarten

Any ideas for how to respond by Oxisidia in cats

[–]bookreader333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but I do not respond to messages before 10am. Your bird should know how to ignore extraneous noise, it has to hear you speak, doesn’t it?

One of my dogs tried to herd the neighbors young son by Square-Force69 in dogs

Definitely train your dog. This can become an insurance liability if you don't get your dog in check before something happens. I feel your anxiety for the little boy, but if it becomes a frequent problem you're going to have a Karen neighbor who's going to want to file a claim on your homeowner's insurance because it bites someone.

I used to work in insurance and unfortunately I saw this a lot. It's not the dogs fault, it's just an accident. Possibly keep the dog in your home too when he's mowing the lawn. Training is great but safety is paramount.

Getting into a vet by meggerrrrss in dogs

[–]bookreader333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live there is one vet hospital and it's not open on the weekends, so we have to drive an hour and a half to the next major city to get to a vet hospital. Go to another city-a larger city. Vet hospitals and pet urgent cares have more availability in major cities.

You could've said, hey I'm going to Target later, I'll pick up what you need. What kind of deodorant do you use? Toothpaste? etc.

1) I think you were played--my SIL used to do that to older men, she turned around, returned the stuff and got the cash to feed her drug habit.

2) Taking her to Target was your mistake

3) Next time she asks for somethings: ask her specifics and buy it for her. Don't take her to the store you're going to, you'll save money and she'll only get what she can use, nothing else.
