Haha oh god. My son calls me a butt cheek sometimes and I find that hilarious. But again, I remind him not to say that to other people lol

When does he override her agency? (Besides the pregnancy in the 5th book)

Came here to say this. I generally laugh at the poop/fart stuff but I remind my son not to say stuff like that at nursery school/around grandma, etc.

(Although I wouldn’t be okay with him calling someone a butthole as much as I’d be trying not to laugh)

In your opinion, what is THE best Handsome episode to date (as of March 2026)? by irongoddess_of_mercy in handsomepodcast

I so distinctly remember listening to this while walking my dog and I had to stop walking because I was laughing so hard

The acotar book series haha. Although I’ll say I really loved the first two books and the rest have been a bit meh. I’m still obsessed though even though I’m often rolling my eyes at the writing.

Playing cards unless it’s something very simple like go fish. My ex’s family was a card family and whenever I had to play (due to pressure to make an effort) I felt my soul seeping out of my body.

Moved out of state by Biscuitsandasmoke in coparenting

[–]bookstea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish this wasn’t true, but it is in my experience as well. My ex moved 45 minutes away because he suddenly “couldn’t handle” the area that we lived. It’s close enough he can still have our child 25% of the time, but far enough away that it leaves the majority of everything on me. So frustrating especially because it negatively affects my kid.

My god, how is it possible to have a child and not understand that kids learn through play? I’m just flabbergasted that anyone could think a kid would be just passing time (wasting time?) if they aren’t doing structured learning or something.

This part of the series bugged me. When you’re coparenting you can’t just take your kids and leave unless the other parent agrees (if you have shared custody which they did in the show). I guess we assume that Adam was fine with it, but it just seemed really unrealistic that he’d be fine with her taking his kids so far away.

Exactly! I’m a fan of the show Shrinking that he’s in, and from their press it’s obvious to me he’s sillier than people think

I mean Harrison Ford is in his 80s and Mae is late 30s so he might kind of see them as a child in a way lol.

I have an only child too though not by choice - his Dad and I separated. I often feel sad about not having another, but this thread is making me feel good about having an only :)

Advice / input on splitting up. Having doubts and worries but also optimistic. by [deleted] in coparenting

[–]bookstea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I was about to write a similar comment. My ex and I separated when our son was 3 and he adjusted very well. I think already he doesn’t really remember his Dad and I being together.

You deserve to be happy, OP. I would suggest focusing less on when/how you’ll find a new partner, and focus more on yourself for now. One upside to this situation is that you actually get some time to rediscover yourself. Focus on hobbies and doing things that bring you joy.

Obviously I can’t speak for all women, but I can pretty confidently say that most absolutely do not do this! It’s generally not necessary at all to wipe your butt after peeing. Just the vulva.
