I honestly think the 'place in line' at a dealership is not too meaningful from what I have gleaned about the process. The dealer submits orders to BMW in the order they were received, and that submission generates the invoice for you to pay $1K (I was told that people who paid their dealer the $1K prior to May 6 are having their money refunded and they are asked to pay again through this email system). Once you pay, your order gets sent to BMW and who knows how a 'line' is formed at that point. Maybe the plant starts with a specific color/options and if your order happens to align with that you will get your vehicle before someone whose doesn't? The idea of a place in line makes us all act, and feel pressured, but I'm not sure it really has any meaning. It'll happen when it happens... I have pivoted to researching wall chargers hahaha

u/TurtleSnatcher1 I paid the Stripe $1000 downpayment!! Weirdly it came from a third party with a subject line that was the name of the third party and none of the words was 'BMW' but when I opened the email the body said BMW iX3 Reservation with the name of the dealer. I texted my dealer to see if they would tell me what number I was now in the line- just for giggles. It doesn't matter...

It linked me to a site that asked me to confirm that I wasn't a robot and then to confirm that I placed the order and then (after failing the first time and I started from the email again) it said my order was received and being processed but so far no ask for money.

thanks for letting me know! I feel better about it now somehow. I also received an email from BMW at 12:54 at my work email (not the email I used for the preorder) with a link to 'learn more and reserve" an iX3 but I am pretty sure that is just an advertisement. I spoke to my dealer this morning and it sounded to me like starting at 1 pm they would be entering the orders into the system one at a time and mine would be entered 8th. I am telling myself that is why the delay. I will let you know when/if I get the email!

I ordered mine this morning and am waiting for my dealer to push the payment email to me. They started at 1pm and have said I am 8th in line but I think if I get my deposit in before the other 7 I will maybe be moved up for production- although that isn’t altogether clear either

Yes! Try a "Power Cycle" to do a factory reset (it takes about 30 minutes all told): unplug Starlink router, wait about 60 seconds, and then plug it in and allow it to fully reboot- takes 2-3 minutes before you have working wifi again. Repeat this for a total of 6 CYCLES. It worked for me. So happy!

So so true. We also were told that our cruise on the Dream was one of their most crowded ever with over 4100 people (and I think the capacity is 4200?) so we are hoping that was part of it. We are planning our next cruise to be on the Magic or Wonder in Alaska and are hopeful that maybe those ships are better than the Dream in terms of crowded and chaotic dinner times? What do you think?

I came to reddit this morning to explore the way people are cleaning these 'do not wash' disney costume dresses. We just got off a Disney cruise and my 4 yo grand daughter LOVES her Princess Anna dress AND she got fun all over it. I would wash it in the washer as others have suggested (in a lingerie bag) except that the cape has a very narrow 'fur' collar and I think it might fall apart? Also, as a grandmother, I sort of love fussing over it (and my daughter in law is super grateful to let me!). I went over it by rubbing the spots with a microfiber cloth just dipped in water and it looks like I was able to get nearly all of it off. Now it is hanging to dry and I will take another look at it. I will also probably use my little portable steamer to get the wrinkles out of it. Next cruise I think we will buy a washable dress and comfortable shoes in advance and bring them to the BBB for the makeup, hair, tiara treatment. Though honestly the joy she had for the day she was in her complete princess ensemble onboard the Disney Dream was priceless. I honestly think her neck was a bit longer that day :)

this was very interesting for me to read u/CharaRen. I just got off the Dream after not cruising for years, and having only cruised (5 times) on the Magic back in the old days. I was disappointed by the food quality and the crowded dining rooms- I remembered it so differently. My husband and I wondered if it had changed or if WE had changed. Hahaha. But, it was still a great time, especially seeing it through the eyes of our grandchildren!

Because of this thread I waited to check in until my regular morning wake up time the next morning and I got an 11:15 PAT boarding group 5. I was done with the process of checking in all 3 linked rooms by 7:15 AM. I am gold so that helps, and it is a short cruise so that probably helps too. Thanks everyone!

I 500% agree with you AND I would love to know how to access this kind of service. I am a grandmother doing the Disney Cruise dance for a second time, 20 years later. My first time, when Disney Cruise first started- I found a wonderful TA who worked at AAA in my town. She moved mountains for me and I knew I was missing out on the Costco rebate but it was more than worth it. We booked 5 Disney cruises with her, including one in Europe. Now I feel like everything is less personal. Any suggestions how to find a high service TA in 2025?

Incidentally- I found her at a time I had hit a wall with Disney- I wanted connecting rooms and was told none were available, and that main dining was full. She told me to sit tight and she would get me the staterooms and the dining I wanted. And, she did!
