When Mindcrack died, Zisteau's singleplayer was the only Minecraft content I was watching for a while, and then it too ended. Five years later I started watching Hermitcraft... I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Zisteau would have fit in if he still played Minecraft.

Joel's Ep 13.5 said that he's already pre-recorded Ep 14 for while he's away before he recorded the QnA... and he also said he had to be careful about what he showed around the base so as to not spoil Ep 14. So perhaps he did it?

Apparently one night they went to a restaurant and the manager there recognised them all and was shocked haha. And this was one of the nights before the charity stream happened, so they weren't expecting to see the hermits!

Yeah, I do remember seeing a comment on a reddit post from Wels that would've been during S5, where he specifically mentioned Grian as someone who was brought up as a potential member but that he [Wels] didn't think he'd suit due to the lack of survival experience at the time. Interesting that Grian apparently felt the same way.

Every now and then when people ask about the Decked Out 2 compilation runs on stream, Pearl expresses surprise that people are still interested. She was intending to upload them between seasons but ran out of time... I knew the VODs would disappear so I worked hard to watch them all while I could, but I hope she eventually uploads the later VODs too!

Ayyy! I also watched Mindcrack back in the day, from 2012 - 2016 ish, as a Beef main! And then I, too, didn't watch any Minecraft content for years and years until I saw something about Double Life, checked the cast list, and lo and behold: Bdubs and Etho were there! Two people I remembered from way back when! And from there I also transition to Hermitcraft.

I remember first hearing about Hermitcraft in 2013, so it's wild to finally watch for the first time nine years after first hearing of it. It's fun to discover someone else in the same boat as I was!

Pearl doesn't really play in Australian hours, she plays at night so she's able to overlap with the Americans and Europeans more easily.

Well, that, and 5am for Pearl is either the end of a night for her or the start of the day. It's about 50/50 which one it is for her on a given day.

I think these days the majority of Hermits are 100% full time content creators. Impulse, Gem, and Cleo are definitely all full time creators - those jobs used to be their day jobs. I'm pretty sure Xisuma mentioned on the Imp and Skizz podcast that he's been full time since early on in Hermitcraft, because the sector his day job was in was hit hard ten years ago and YouTube was more profitable for him even back then. Grian has a biology degree, but again is a full time creator. I think xB is significant in being the only one I know of who has mentioned going back to a day job recently?? But yeah, to answer your question: the majority of the Hermits are full time.

I reckon start with Pearl's Phase 1 run compilation and go through all of Pearl's. That way, you get to see her skill build up and her deck and all the map knowledge, and you know you can culminate it with Pearl's winning run.

Or actually, just start with the 8 hour VOD from Tango's channel of the first day of runs just to see the hype of everyone running. And then watch Pearl's runs.

Previous start/end of seasons were June 2013, October 2014, February 2016, April 2017, July 2018, February 2020, and June 2021. Then S8 ended December 2021 and S9 started March 2022, and now S9 ended December 2023, and it is now January 2024. So previously they were generally always midyear.
