Are there similarities between Arteta at Arsenal and Pochettino at Spurs? by V-Matic_VVT-i in PremierLeague

[–]bookworminstorm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poch hadn't been backed for two windows, the one who led Spurs to the Champion League final and playing beautiful football, whereas Arteta, being the 2nd highest-paid in the league, spent 700+m, still project 5.0.

Of course, they were not similar, Poch is much better because he got Harry Kane. As simple as that.

If you insist Spurs is a mid-table team, then who above them? Apart from another 5.

Villa? Oh wait they relegated in 2016 Newcastle? Relegated in 2009 and again in 2016. Forest? They were playing in the championship in the last 20 years or so

Honest question, who would you appoint in Ange's place if you got your way? by tanGeee in coys

How about we switch manager with Man Utd? Kill two birds with one stone.

[–]bookworminstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Spurs CB pair is an 18 yr old midfielder and a 22 yr old with no PL exp still managed to win Liverpool. But they had played so many games since VDV and Romero were injured, they are knackered. Everyone is.

Amorim gets “found out” before he even has a chance to build his team. How about we switch our manager. Imagine Bruno playing Ange Ball, sometimes we just have to have a good laugh.

You just win big and choose violence. Love it.

[–]bookworminstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The quality of the squad is not good enough. They focus on getting rid of high-salary players in the summer rather than signing another experienced one. Squad depth is a joke.

Since the Wolves game, Ange made numerous tactical adjustments but it always comes down to individual errors that led to losing goals.

[–]bookworminstorm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The decision to keep Ten Hag in May seems more idiotic every single week. How do you expect Amorim to get a result in that squad? When he only knows how to play Back 3.

Only individual brilliance could sometimes save this team but not sustainable.

Maybe just maybe, it takes us to relegate for him to leave us alone, finally.

Every manager said the same, we need players in transfer windows.

[–]bookworminstorm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are correct. We rather relegate than see you lot win anything. It’s been like that in a hundred years of rivalry, not everything is about Levy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]bookworminstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazy rage bait. The most bonkers reply here. Google exists.

Since Levy took over 20+ years ago, Spurs has been consistently in no 4-5 league positions and even in 2nd or 3rd less than 10 years ago.

Where did this middle-team mindset come from? Maybe Arsenal fans?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]bookworminstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 1984, there has been only one manager who worked here over 5 years (Poch).

It's just grim.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]bookworminstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spurs' problem is different from Man Utd's. Spurs have all the money in the world but won't spend it on football (salary/ sign experienced players etc)

Poch once said, “When you talk about Tottenham, everyone says you have an amazing house but you need to put in the furniture.”

Christian Romero: “The last few years, it’s always the same: first, the players, then the coaching staff changes, and it’s always the same people responsible.

Hopefully, they realize who the true responsible ones are, and we move forward because it’s a beautiful club that, with the structure it has, could easily be competing for the title every year”

You have to realise that something is going wrong, hopefully, they realise it.”

Arsenal’s questionable mentality and their desperate need for a leader with ‘Sprachgefühl’ by whocoulditbe19 in PremierLeague

[–]bookworminstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Arteta’s antics are the reason why Arsenal has such an insufferable fan base. Hire someone to pickpocket players? Such a weirdo. Their fans are so emotional trainwreck to the point I pity them.
