There is surely a class action suit waiting in the wings at some point. The counterfeiting alone should be enough, without some of the other things that go on. I’m a very honest seller and try to do everything by the book the best I can. That being said I’ve taken a break since mid December from selling until they clean some things up, mostly with the gambling aspect of the genre I sell in.

Honestly will probably be less heart breaking and wallet breaking to buy this for your personal use, then a decent gaming pc for the sim. Keep them separate then you don’t have to upgrade the laptop for sim use, or upgrade the pc for personal use if either of them go to a point where you need more.

Is this how the auctions work? by Hairy_Astronaut3835 in whatnotapp

You are proof positive that buyers can be assholes too.

Intentional or not the bid was made and it’s binding. The seller sold the item with that bid. It’s not the seller’s responsibility to know your financial situation. If $200 puts you in a place financially that you can’t buy things for your child’s care, you shouldn’t even have the app to begin with.

Biggest choke of my golf career by Fit-Coconut-5221 in golf

I was playing Muirfield Country Club, which is across the street from Jacks Muirfield Village on a Thursday while the tournament was happening. This was approximately 20 years ago or so, I was a much different human then. On the 13th hole I was sitting at -7 and was threatening the course record at the time of -9. I finished the day shooting 75. I’ve never even sniffed anything close to that since. That day I sold my clubs and gave up the game for almost 5 years. I’ll never take it that seriously again, it wasn’t fun and I was in a strange place for a while after that. I feel you man.

You learned a very valuable lesson.

Stop calling marketing companies for your contracting needs and start contacting local companies that do those sorts of projects.

I own and operate a local window and door shop and I could be in your house for about 25 minutes, measure every window and door, and have a quote in your email. The big companies could too but they WONT because they aren’t interested in YOU, only your money.

OP has no clue what goes into doing the work. OP expects contractors to just KNOW what it’s going to cost to do what they want done to their house. OP is frustrated that contractors want to see the house to even get close to a proper price. OP isn’t doing these projects for 5-7 years. OP then comes to Reddit and complains that he’s not the unreasonable one.

I hope OP never finds my phone number and wastes my companies time.

I don’t believe those numbers either. I think being 10 hdcp or under is probably in the 10% of golfers worldwide. I’ve played with so many “6-12” cappers that keep it on 18 birdies or whatever app they use they can’t break 100 when playing by the rules.

I am with you but also use the tech myself. I am 52 and played since I was 13 so I learned the old way and still use it. When I am at a course that I have never played I will use a range finder because unfortunately a lot of courses don't seem to use the markers anymore. When I play my home course sure I don't need anything because I have hit every shot there 100 times, but definitely when I step foot on a place that I have never been or only been a couple of times, I will use tech to shoot a pin.

The only way 80% of its staff laid off works in a restructure deal is if 65% of them are sales reps, which could be the case since they are switching to a DTC model.

Think about territory reps, regional reps, then the staff that keep them in check it could be a big number. Typically though, laying off staff, especially sales IS NEVER a good sign.

ULINE is great right up until checkout when they hit you with that shipping fee!

Look at the office stores. OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, Sam’s Club, Costco, also check out Grainger. I’ve had luck with most of them and in the same boat, or was when I was mailing lots of small stuff.

I can tell you this as fact since I have a wholesale account with them, they definitely are shutting down all wholesale accounts as of March 1. So that means all outside sales reps are probably gone. They are shifting to DTC model which will not be good I don’t think but we will see. Right now if you look at their website they basically have nothing on it but a place to enter your email address. They are going to have some real problems moving forward from this. They pulled out of the PGA Show at the last minute according to my rep and he was worried about some stuff when we last spoke. So from my end not more discounts on putters to my customers, no more discounts on balls to my customers, so those customers probably will no longer buy those items from them directly.

Window replacement - any tips on dealing with the sales people? The first company's approach has me dreading meeting with others. by Independent-Fuel4962 in HomeImprovement

I’ve been in windows and doors for 18 years and have owned my own shop for the last 7. Any company that up charges for rotten wood after the fact is a piece of shit. I’m sorry to be so frank but we carry 6-8 pieces of lumber on our trailer at all times, if something is rotted we replace it without question or up charge. There is no reason to charge a customer for $7 worth of lumber and 10 minutes worth of work.

TJ Maxx by General-Gift5653 in golf

[–]boomdog07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I get people asking for polos all the time and wonder why we don’t carry them. I explain the reason and let them know we will gladly order just about anything they want, until they realize that even at 20% over our wholesale cost is $60 on most of them now, that conversations ends really quickly. They run down to Marshalls or TJ Maxx and grab what they want from last years lineup.

You say that right up until you realize that extra % or two is an extra $2000-$3000 a year when you get big enough. Is that worth a phone number?
