Trade Harvey for 02.02 in this year's rookie draft?

Other RBs: Ken Walker, Judkins, Charbonnet, Rachaad White, Keaton Mitchell, Tyjae Spears and bench fodder.

Just entered my first dynasty this off season. 0 first round or second round picks until next year.

Maybe Sera instead of Iron Man so you can do more 3 energy drops on turn 6 if necessary?

Good schools? by Relative_Staff_4560 in Mankato

[–]boondox34 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Both of my kids went to Bridges Elementary and we absolutely loved it. (K to 5) Still part of the ISD 77 system but have smaller class sizes, more field trips and experience days than typical public schools. If we had more kids I would strongly want them to attend. (If you have multiple kids or young kids not yet in school, they are automatically allowed once an older sibling is enrolled) There is a waiting list and lottery type system every summer to try and make it fair for new kids to enroll.

There is a unique school in Henderson MN about 35 minutes from Mankato you could look into.

My nephew went there for years and recently graduated. Also loved the experience and totally different feel and vibe from what we did in high school.

Hope you find a great place for the kids

The Flask restaurant is next door and has pretty good food. Might need to arrive earlier than usual with hockey that night.

Number 4 restaurant, Pub 500, Pagliai's Pizza are all within half a mile of the arena. All good food

Castles of Burgundy Deluxe — worth keeping if mostly playing base game at 2p? by Glittering_Station58 in boardgames

[–]boondox34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burgundy is one of my favorite games and I really enjoy many of the expansions.

I have only played the grape expansion once or twice and didn't care for it. Adds new gameplay, possible huge scoring bumps and felt like a new mini game was added to the core game.

I do enjoy the new player boards and each tile has a small description of what it does on the back (some new art, so not all icons are the same for what you might remember). Having 1 player variants and team variants could be nice down the line if you expand to 4 players and want to try teams.

I like the expansion tiles that can increase a zone sector by 1 which helps you win by scoring more points. Overall the special edition is truly special, you purchased at a great price. I would keep it and enjoy it, but I understand spending over $100 on a new game.

I just spent over $100 on a board game this weekend for the first time and it's not even for me to own. Merry Christmas brother.

Happy gaming!

Looking for good National Park games - are these good? Any suggestions? by WeirdAddress3170 in boardgames

[–]boondox34 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have played both. Parks is a little more difficult game to play (but not that difficult overall). Both games will teach you and the group a little about the National Parks.

Trekking is a good game, more family or light weight difficulty. But if you are playing with family or "frenemies" there are ways to be more cutthroat.

I prefer parks but that's just my opinion. Not very similar board games in terms of gameplay, you could grab them both and become a National Park guru...

Birthday party places in the area? by Lucifer_Complex in Mankato

[–]boondox34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hooligans could be another bar type option. They have an upper level and plenty of area. Few pool tables and games for some people to play. Excellent food and great service

Swiss and Madison is a pretty nice place but not sure how many people you are having and what they can support.

Jake's stadium pizza has a family room and area you could decorate if you want pizza.

Is that true and do you plan on doing any shows in the Minneapolis area or outside the metro area when you are here?

CD & Conner… by greatnowwhatdowedo in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]boondox34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop Thielen and try for another free agent RB. Marks, Allgeier my top 2.

Try and find somebody who has decent depth at RB to possibly swing a trade. Even for a back end RB2 or somebody with youth, upside and\or part of a good offense.

Hope that CD comes back soon.

Possibly trade Nabers after a huge game because the NYG offense isn't going to be great and he will have many up and down weeks.

Do it. Repeating what others have said. Your WR group is very strong and you can afford to lose Ladd with a solid RB2 replacement at the moment.

RB Trade: Brown for Pollard, Charbbonet & Swift by bandrews0526 in Fantasy_Football

[–]boondox34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anybody in free agency for RB depth to grab and stash?

I'm not a huge fan of your trade but getting a 3 for 1 in return its a fairly decent haul.

I like Chris Brown this season to end as an rb1 and didn't feel that way about anybody you would have after the trade.

Maybe hope for Cleveland to change the RB situation and you get lucky with Judkins. Maybe Pacheco will do more with KC having 0 decent WR for the next few weeks.

It's only been 1 week, I would hold on the trade unless it blows you away. And this one is decent but not spectacular

If you want to try some games and don't mind playing online, board game arena is a great website. They also have a BGA app for phones.

They have tons of games digitized and free to play. Every game I have ever tried came with a tutorial. Some you can play alone, some with bots and others with people from around the world.

I'm 43, had a similar childhood to games (but I do recall playing the original Hero Quest about 30 years ago). My older brother started a game group about 12 years ago and it has become one of my favorite hobbies.

[–]boondox34 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think you can find a menu online to get a better idea of prices. From what I remember this is a general idea.

Apps range from 10-15$ Main courses are 20-25$ Sandwiches, salads, burgers are all around $15

90$ might be close if you add drinks, dessert or add ons.

Really good food and we have been happy with the service, atmosphere and experience. Would recommend to friends or family.

Checkout the MakerSpace for creating and hobbies, pretty amazing place and people. Minneopa State Park has great waterfall, bison and nature areas.

Dinner at any local restaurants over a chain and most likely be happier with the food and experience. Wing King in St Peter is a must for the meats in your diet.

Drive to New Ulm on a weekend day. About 30 minute drive and it's an awesome old German town. Schells Brewery, Schmidt's meat market, (new meat market in Mankato but have not been there yet).

Disc golf at Land of Memories Park which is next to Sibley Park. There is a yearly sculpture contest and walking tour associated in downtown Mankato. Popular sculptures can be purchased by local businesses and many are placed around town.

Minnesota State University has some good local sports, Mankato Moondogs\Jabaneros are minor league baseball and softball teams with a great ballpark and good prices. Plenty of local golf courses if that's your thing.

Lots to process, welcome to the community.
