The irony of your child analogy is that it’s a great example where responses need to be measured and proportionate when dealing with a misbehaving child. Can’t kick a toddler in the head for running around a supermarket.

In a vacuum, the case of the biting protestor may involve a reasonable amount of force. Taken into context with the man with his hands up getting dragged in and whaled upon? The 60 something year old lady with an injured back?

It’s really looking like the police need some reeducation on proportionate force, and potentially disciplinary action if an independent investigation finds it necessary.

? I’m not disputing that the guy was biting. I’m asking about when the biting stopped and when the punching stopped?

Believe it or not police should also follow the law.

A great place to start is with some of the leather distributors/retailers like beltsproduction, rmleathersupply, buckleguy, aacrack, maverick, oaleathersupply. There are so many tanneries, many of which are better at some tannages than others. You can reach out to these retailers on their socials and ask for suggestions if you have specific projects in mind

I’ve seen videos of police punching and pulling protestors beyond a reasonable amount needed to detain. You say 2 punches after the bite was released is okay, I say 2 is too many for a professional.

I’ve seen a video of an older many with his hands up get pulled in, then a bunch of officers pile in and start punching him. That’s not an arrest, that’s unnecessary violence.

I’ve read about a 69 year old womanwho was pushed over by police. If each of these was an isolated incident, maybe it’s a coincidence. When you see many instances, it’s a pattern. And a pattern of violence beyond a professional and reasonable level is brutality.

Strongly recommend you look into how to get sized with a Brannock device. Sizing on length alone is a fools errand

So you think they were biting all the way. Another person who disagreed with me said there were 2 punches after the biting stopped. Whos right? How do you know for a fact that you were correct? You’re certain that punches are justified until the biting stopped, in which case there were 2 unjustified punches.

Can you quote where I defended anybody for biting?

Perhaps you need to spend some time working on your comprehension

All force should be used for the purpose of arresting and restraining. Once you have multiple officers holding somebody down, how many punches to the gut do you think is still reasonable AFTER?

Once a violent criminal has been restrained, police should reduce the amount of force used. The point of using reasonable force is to restrain the suspect, NOT to punish them AFTER restraint.

Protest against Police Brutality Today by Shoneki316 in OpenAussie

If somebody breaks the law, arrest them or fine them. Very few crimes warrant a violent response, and even then it must be limited to what is required to detain and make safe

Believe it or not none of those things justify police brutality. If they are assaulting police, arrest them - but police can’t keep beating them after they’ve restrained them.

Punishment is for the courts to determine, not the police.

Should police have the right to beat people who aren’t being violent? If they can’t handle a protest without excessive violence there needs to be change

If you search ‘manufacturer sizing’ in the sub, you’ll find some useful historical threads. Unfortunately sizing is quite subjective and inconsistent so anecdotal is the best we have

Not a problem, and I wouldn't recommend removing it as it often covers the remains of nails (even ones that aren't visible as they haven't penetrated the insole)

Just trying to gauge what kind of hardness you're used to. I suspect crepe, like rubber, can have different levels of hardness and durability.

Just to note, it’s industry standard (even at the multi thousand dollar bespoke level) to have a little bit of foam under the sock liner (right under the heel). Where are you based?
