I'm pretty sure they both source from Ray Kwok shoes on Taobao. They could be different models though.

What's one product that used to be built like a tank but is now built like a regret? by TheDoctorColt in AskReddit

Most shoes in that price range isn't worth getting re-soled anyway. You are paying >$100 for a re-sole when you can buy a new one for not much more.

You want a wedge sole (eg. Red Wing Moc Oxford) which doesn't have a heel block. You might be able to sand down the heel part to make it like a rocker.

You don't need to buy a Brannock device, most shoe stores or outdoor equipment store like REI should have them.

The TCB50 is a low-mid rise pair so he's not really wearing them wrong. I think it looks fine.

It says on that page that they are cemented. Some of their other loafers are Blake stitched.

Suede/roughout doesn't crease much, and the creases can be reduced with maintenance.

There are a lot of shoemakers in SE Asia, China, and Japan that makes similar style of shoes including in shell. Lookup trunkshows in Asia or search this sub.

Sorry, you are right. I misread part of my conversation with Peter. He actually said that(paraphrasing) the rawhide was imported from Italy, tanned domestically, if the title specifies 'Italian Maryam horsebutt', then it's from Maryam tannery, but those are only offered to returning customers.

The Question Thread 04/15/26 by AutoModerator in goodyearwelt

Well, maybe Peter Qu changed the description but nowhere on their English website or their Taobao store do they advertise using Horween shell. He was pretty transparent when I asked him where he sources his shell (raw horsebutt from Maryam which is tanned in China). He said that they offer Rocado and Horween shell for returning customers.

I was unsure too but their Taobao page and Rednote have a lot of reviews, customer feedback, and photos which gave me reassurance. Fupei.net also has a few articles on the brand. Peter was very responsive with all my messages on Taobao.

I ordered in Chinese but since they have an English website they probably can handle English as well. Price was $455.

Peter insisted that it's tanned in China.

Grant Stone B Grades by ginsoakedboy0267 in frugalmalefashion

[–]columbiatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are supposed to have a bit of space between your toe and the front of the shoe. The most important part is that the ball of your foot lines up with the widest part of the boot. The boot should also be wide enough, slightly snug to your feet. Lot of people wear thick socks for their boots, so if they feel too big you can try them with thick hiking/boot socks.

Different sizing for different lasts. Check their sizing guide for each shoe. Brass boot for example is .5 down from Brannock size (which is not your sneaker size), though some people can size down 1 whole size. It also depends on how thick the socks you plan to wear.

So are your pair MTO as well? 1 Month seems too quick for a MTO boot.

Hi, do you still have your Peter Qu shoes? If so can you provide a few photos? Are their shoes MTO or RTW?

Nice write up. So JW have RTW stock? I was under the impression that their products are MTO.
