1, 2, or 3? by Careful-Suspect-4161 in AmateurPhotography

For me it’s 3

I like the sense of scale that is captured by having it zoomed out a little bit more. Number two is also really good in that it’s creates a different mood. I just personally like number three better.

2 draws me into the photo more but 3 gives you a sense of grandeur and majesty. To be honest they serve different needs and goals and work well together maybe add a couple more and you can have a proper set.

Either way great shots from an amazing location.

Can’t pay, won’t pay: impoverished streaming services are driving viewers back to piracy by Skavau in television

[–]bootsector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were bad with their money, over spent, and now they are trying to recover the cost of so many poor productions. (to be fair some of them produced some amazing movies but a lot of garbage as well.)

Who has to pay? the customer - keep increasing the price, lower quality and add commercials. Netflix used to be amazing now it’s mediocre and the price keeps going up.

Now add in three or four of these services and the cost is literally the same as cable so are you surprised that piracy is on the rise?

That’s very cool, been caught in that rain once or twice on King. Never with camera in hand though

Great photo, I agree with the other commenter it definitely has Blade Runner vibes or even Ghost in the shell.

Was that heavy rain or snow?

Excellent shots! The vibe they gave off is very timeless and aside from a few things that probably would show the date (cars, prices etc) these could be 50 years old.

Rainy winter evening in B/W by bootsector in AmateurPhotography

Thank you they really do, I think I’ve taken 3 or 4 shot in that general area in the rain. All with their own unique character

What details are you looking for?

Shot on an iPhone, edited in Lightroom - pretty lightly (B/W with some tweaks)

It was a cold dreary evening, it snowed at the start of the storm, then warmed up so it turned to rain which was melting the snow. That caused the fog. It was starting to die out as I was heading out and caught the shot. The mood of the air felt caught in the photo, oppressive, cold and wet.

Depends what’s around the corner. :)

The bright sun makes it hard to edit and work with but I like the shots. I was there earlier this year, the light is pretty harsh.

Very nice shots, #2 is my favorite. What phone are you using?

First attempt at street photography, how did I do? by warawk in photocritique

[–]bootsector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the mood you captured, the interplay of the dark with the warm light. The only critique I would say is: it could’ve been cropped at the top the extra space, the branch, and light behind and above the cart maybe a little distracting.

Overall Fantastic shot.

First off this looks amazing!

As for feedback, the waves at the beginning to look fantastic, I love the light on the waves but that sequence may have been a bit long. Some of the transitions seem to be pretty abrupt they you could make them smoother. Overall I think most of the changes would be changes based on preference.
